Am I triggered or simply suggesting that we try to provide some diverse challenges to our pro athletes? This is the primary question and suggestion I raise. Meanwhile, the people who have come to rely on the technology and can’t imagine catching fish without it feel my opinion is threatening their manhood. Let me again say, I think the technology is great!! I love all of it, but at the pro-level, I want to see them challenged. Is that terrible? Does that make me like Randy?

Probably so, but let’s see the diversity of their talents by having a few stops on tour that restrict the use of ffs so they can prove it. That would be a compromise I think we all should/could get behind.

@@lesyoung9294 ​​⁠we will see. We’ve already seen that some have completely faltered on days they had technical difficulties with their electronics, so although some will be ok, I suspect some will not.

That’s valid. It’s definitely not cheating, and I agree that it does require a bit of skill, but do we really need more screen time? And, at the pro level, don’t you think it would be nice if they broke the tournaments up so that not every single event (aside from sight fishing spawn events) was won using ffs? Personally, I’d like to see some diversity in the patterns and baits used at the elite level. For average and below average anglers like myself, it is the greatest tool ever.

@@MattStarkFishing I think there is natural diversity. Look at the recent Heavy Hitters. Jordan Lee wasn't scoping, he smacked them on a frog. It's no different from the screen time pros have been putting in since the invention of sonar and side scan. KVD used to idle for hours with sidescan when he was smoking everyone back in the day, the only difference now is there is a bunch of haters that can't keep up with the best in the world(takes more than a bit of skill) causing uninformed people to get butt hurt about the whole deal. Unfortunately some people didn’t get past my trigger warning and thought my slant was the same as Randy’s without watching the whole video. The heavy hitter tournament where Jordan Lee was using a frog was great, but what were those rookies doing? Scoping. Jordan already has shown us his talents as an angler long before ffs. I do hear what you’re saying about side scan imaging but side skan imaging doesn’t really show us how the fish react to our lures and presentation, nor does it show us how the fish move in real time. It has effectively eliminated the guess work. So I do see a difference in the two sonar technologies. Side scan is more for recon where ffs is more a shoot to kill technique. And don’t get me wrong, I love the technology. I geek out on it, I’m just wanting to hold our pros to a higher standard. That’s all. Let them use it, but maybe also have certain events where they can’t so they can showcase how well rounded they are.

Watch the whole video. No one is crying. There was a “trigger warning” in an attempt to weed out the snowflakes. I don’t have any skin the the game and don’t care if talentless anglers like myself want to use ffs. It’s perfect for making mediocre guys feel like super stars, but at the pro level I’d like to see some diversity in the patterns. That’s all. Sorry if you got triggered.

Thanks for watching. Yeah, I found over the years that a sweeping hook set doesn’t tear the bass’s mouth as much and reduces lost fish. When you hammer a fish, especially using braid or fluorocarbon it rips a giant gaping hole that allows the hook to pop out.

Both of them are narcissistic blow hards and are equally polarizing and we don’t play their snowflake clickbait game here. This is a channel where we discuss real facts without name calling or accusations. As for your assessment of my opinion/observation on how ffs is effecting the pro-level of fishing…I think you need to watch this entire video and my follow up video to understand the context and my full take on ffs. But you did hear me correctly on the fact that many of these rookies lack a well rounded ability and they have already shown their dependence on ffs throughout the year. It’s no wonder to me that some of these guys failed to make it into the top 100 of the Opens and then suddenly qualified for the elite series once they got FFS on their boat. When you have guys who competed in the opens for 5 years and never cracked the top 100 suddenly qualify then you have to start questioning the legitimacy of the technology at the pro level. Furthermore, when there is a rule banning underwater cameras and not a more powerful devise that allows you to see fish 100’ from the boat, you have to wonder why there is such hypocrisy in the rule book. Btw if Randy did use the word “mystery” I can assure you he isn’t the only one. As this video is almost a year old, and the fact that mystery has been in the Webster dictionary since I was a fetus, I’m betting other people have used the word too. Now, if being a keyboard warrior is your game, and I’m betting by overcompensating pseudonym that is is, you can go back to watching Ben and Randy argue over who is a bigger dickhead, but if you want to be civilized and discuss how ffs has changed the playing field of the pro level, then we can carry on our discussion.

First off, I seldom if ever watch Randy or his girlfriend Miliken because all those snowflakes do is bitch about each other, so please don’t bring their drama here. This is a channel where we discuss things as men and not children hiding behind a pseudonym that clearly is an overcompensation for something. You claim “there is no argument against it(ffs)”, then why do so many pros have an issue with it? Let me ask you a few questions that I know you probably won’t answer…Why did so many seasoned Open anglers who had never cracked the top 100, suddenly qualify for the Elites once they got ffs? Why does BASS and MLF ban underwater cameras, stating they allow anglers to see the fish (provided light and water clarity are ideal), but ffs isn’t banned even though fish can be seen 100’ from the boat? Why do the one trick ffs ponies dominate in every tournament aside from the ones where bed fishing is the dominant pattern? And, to address your assertion that “ffs gets banned then so does all electronic” that was a telling statement. Clearly don’t understand how side scan and other electronics work and how they differ from ffs. That statement is like saying, “well if they can the Alabama rig they need to ban all fishing lures”. If you want to have a mature conversation, let’s do it, but I’m not Randy, I’m not Ben. Personally, I think ffs is bad ass. I just don’t think it belongs at the top level of our sport.
