No even now I still feel that Phoenix is still a bad pick even for Smash 6 as he's still just a joke character with no move-set to work with. His games don't have any combat in them so that makes things really difficult when developing a fighter. Even in Project X Zone 2 when Phoenix got added he was not playable and instead he was reduced to a support character. His only ability was to give bonus exp to the characters he was paired with, so even Monolith Soft couldn't get this character to work. I didn't think of this when writing the script for this video but it's a question that people need to start asking going forward. What would this character's Final Smash be? Being popular in the Smash community doesn't shield a character from criticism nor does that mean that character is going to make for a good fighter. Look at Sora he was the most requested character for Smash Ultimate and yet he's mid tier and not this ultimate S tier fighter. Also just like I said in the video he wasn't going to bring any Disney characters with him to Smash bros and when he got revealed, guess what? no Disney characters in Smash. None of these characters are joke/bad fighters Mr.Game&Watch's move-set is based off the Game & Watch games. Wii Fit Trainer's move-set is based of the Wii fit games Villager's move-set is based off of things found in Animal Crossing Duke Hunt's move-set is based off of several NES light gun games Plant is just a bad fighter and I do hope he gets removed in Smash 6 due to him being nothing more then a pointless filler fighter.

I also agree that someone like geno does not excite me at all as an inclusion lol. Again why is sora tier in comptetitive play at all relevant to why he joins? Dlc characters coming in and being annoyingly strong is something people normally complain about. And yes exactly thats my point. All of those characters are using refferences for attacks instead since they cant conventionally fight and theirs no problems. Which is exactly what phoenix would be doing. I hope they dont waste time on plant either but my point was they arent remotely comparable.

This is most commonly seen with the Geno crowd, if you even dare bring up one of Geno's many flaws or mock him be prepared to be verbally attacked. Well I was wrong about Sora people were calling Sora mid so I went to check the tier list and he's mid A tier and last time I checked that's good not bad. Mid to me is B- not to powerful but not terrible either aka balanced. You can tell I don't follow the competitive scene as people were throwing that around like an insult years ago. Always remember it's never been a popularity contest that's one of those stupid fan rules that Nintendo never follows. There is only one official rule and that rule is: All fighters must from originate from a video game.

Thank you, I worked very hard on that video doing a lot of research that's why it took so long to make. I knew Crash wasn't going to be in Smash Ultimate thanks to Matt from 2 Best Friends, he has a KZfaq series called "What Happened" that explains why a lot of IP's, game devs or consoles failed and Playstation All Stars was featured in an episode. In that episode Sony actually did try to get both Crash and Spyro for All Stars but ultimately they backed out due to Activision's greed and them asking for way to much money. So when people started asking for Crash to be added to Smash I knew right then and there he wasn't going to in the game because if Sony couldn't get him for their game there was no way Nintendo was going to get him either.

I really just wanted to put the Activision thing out there since it's shocking how many people wanted Crash in the game, including me. I had to subscribe to see more of your content, this was a fun watch. The Bandana Dee slander was hilarious and I never thought about simply having a new Kirby rep is hard since the only main guys we have left are MFs like him if Smash never goes full-on obscure niece side character on us in a next one in friggin' 2030. I wanted to quickly bring up the Geno and Tales Of situation since I never really stopped to think how much sense the points against their inclusions really are. That Geno's quote-on-quote "popularity" is so incredibly centered around nostalgia towards a single spin-off game co-developed by a third-party from so long ago, only just now receiving the spotlight after the remake. When it comes to Tales Of, I first want to ask what you think about the inclusion of Bandai Namco's Kazuya instead (and also Sora's addition if you want). The second thing is how Fire Emblem is less a "niece" series like Tales Of. In the grand scheme of Nintendo and gaming, I guess, but it is still a Nintendo mainstay that is still super relevant and popular in Japan with a new protagonist for every game Nintendo of Japan wants to promote (like with Three Houses' 4 million sales, and Fire Emblem Heroes' $1 billion earnings, it's certainly not as small as the Tales Of series) though, I still see what you mean. I always thought Lloyd would be a nice addition as someone who didn't know who the fuck that was, but not about how large this series truly is (which isn't a lot). Well to be fair out of all the Xeno characters that Monolith Soft has created Kos-mos is probably the most deserving. I only say this when you consider the fact that it was Xenosaga 1 that established both Monolith Soft and the Xeno series which is now a Nintendo IP. Let alone it was the first game in the series to sell over 1 million copy's. This is something we wouldn't see again until Xenoblade 2 in 2017. There's a good reason why Monolith made Kos-mos their mascot and why they worked so hard to bring her back, she's just that special to them. Before you say it no Xenogears didn't do any of these things because it's a Square IP and Monolith never worked on it and I don't recognize Xenogears as part of Monolith's Xeno series.

Oh I agree KOS-MOS deserves it the most. My initial comment was just about how Simmons will be heated if she gets in because he doesn’t like the PS2 trilogy. It really bugs me that he doesn’t like Xenosaga. The husband and wife directors of Xenosaga (at least Episode I) also headed Xenogears so ‘gears is also their brain child. Some or all Xeno games made by Monolith Soft are influenced by ‘gears. As much as I do not like Simmons (or at least his opinion of Xenosaga), in a livestream he pointed out that the Xenoblade series has many elements of ‘gears to the point of it pretty much being a continuation/retelling of the Xenogears story.

Xenosaga pulls heavily from Xenogears; it’s sort of a retelling using the concepts from ‘gears, but more of their original vision since Xenogears did not turn out quite how they wanted (or so I’ve read, no doubt budget cuts/time restraints were part of the problem).

Cannot get everyone on the same page all the time I guess.

Well the timing is right as Monolith will be celebrating their 25th anniversary next year so it would be a good time to announce it. Then in 2027 they will celebrate their 20th anniversary with Nintendo and that will also be Kos-mos's 25th birthday that same year. Also with Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed with the post credit scene Monolith was clearly teasing Xenoblade 4. It was also very clear that was Kos-mos descending on the planet as that's how Xenosaga 3 ended, so it's clear they want her to be the protagonist of Xenoblade 4 along with the new characters.

That would be really cool, and as good a compromise as Xenosaga fans can get if we never get a continuation of Xenosaga.

My opinion on one of these characters has changed and you could be hearing about them in a later video as time passes so do people. But it's certainly not Geno, you say he has history with smash bros, I say WTF are you talking about what history? Geno has no history with Smash bros. Other than Sakurai bringing him up in one interview in 2008 that's it but that doesn't mean has history with smash bros. Also being requested for every new game in the series also doesn't equal history with smash bros. Also just because Mario RPG is getting a remake later this year doesn't mean Geno should be in Smash 6 whenever that gets announced. As Mario RPG is a Mario game and not a Geno game, Geno is nothing more then a boring side character. I don't care how much dumb smash fanboys request Geno it's not a popularity contest and never will be one.
