Great video! I just picked up a new 23 KLX 300R as my first adult dirt bike! I bought it to use as a fat guy moped at the lake but this machine might open the door to a whole new hobby!

@@andy3d1 The WR is definitely the most capable as far as speed and jumps go, but if you want a chill, easy to ride bike with plush suspension to cruise around on the KLX takes the cake. The DRZ was a little jerky down low (carb needs some tuning) and felt the heaviest but it is still a lot of fun out in the open.

There's a best of all worlds missing from this comparison and that is the KLX450R. It has larger oil capacity than the WR and the simplicity of the DRZ. Even in 2024 it has been left unchanged. No EFI TCS, ABS. If you ever wanted a DRZ with more power and about 20kg lighter this is the machine for you.

The DRZ is a nice bike, I would ride it more but it's my dad's and I want to keep it in good shape for him. The grass is a job and a half in the summer, I help my dad cut it when I'm not working. We use a Scag Tiger Cat with a 61" deck, it gets the job done pretty fast 👍

My 07 has been a great bike for me so far, very maneuverable in the woods, soft suspension and it will happily chug along at low rpm without stalling too easily. It's not a race bike or dedicated hard Enduro machine, but you can still try to ride it like one 😀

Was running a 8" ATI 5500 RPM race converter but wasn't that streetable so now run a 9.5" 4200 EPM FTI street race converter it's slower with that converter but more streetable well as streetable as you cam get with a .630 lift side roller cam lol. @Criscitiello
@Criscitiello 5 ай бұрын
Thanks :) There's about 30 acres of woods but I can only get through some sections of it, there are some pretty large swampy/boggy areas out here. I do 95% of my cutting with Felco 231 curved anvil loppers and the rest with a little echo chainsaw. Lots of work but it's always enjoyable and very rewarding 👍

Which bike you liked most? How reliable wr450 is compared to other two bikes?
@Criscitiello
@Criscitiello 6 ай бұрын
For chill trail riding in the woods the KLX feels right at home, my only gripes are the soft suspension and slow power delivery down low when you want to really get after it. Out in the open the WR450 and DRZ are more fun because of the extra grunt but the WR felt more dialed than the DRZ in the woods. The WR has been a pretty reliable bike for my sister, it's only needed a battery and carb rebuild so far.

My "Kawasaki" decal on the side is black though, and mine has a Pro Circuit T-4 slip on. Question: Sometimes she's a little hard to start when hot. Any tips?
@Criscitiello
@Criscitiello 7 ай бұрын
It's full on mud soup in that spot now... The walk was about half a mile, not too far 😂 The only trick that seems to help me starting when hot is to not touch the throttle at all until it fires up and the idle stabilizes, but it usually doesn't give me much trouble.

@Criscitiello
@Criscitiello 7 ай бұрын
Mine is an 07, it's a fair bit lighter than the latest generation. No battery, electric starter, or EFI on mine. I could see a 2020 feeling heavy in comparison. After riding mine for almost a year, I'm beginning to crave a bit more power out in the open and slightly stiffer suspension 😎

@@Criscitiello more power is always nice. a good replacement to fit those needs and your type of riding might be the kx250x [if youre stuck on kawi] but itll be more maintenance. part of the appeal of the klx300r is the low maintenance. its like the 400ex of two-wheelers

@Criscitiello
@Criscitiello 7 ай бұрын
I've probably put 40-50 hours on it since I got it. The KLX is a lot of bike for the money, and after riding one for a while you'll develop a better idea of what you want out of your next bike 👍 For me, the suspension is a bit soft, it could use a bit more punch off idle and it can be twitchy at higher speeds due to the short wheelbase.
@brianlynng
@brianlynng 7 ай бұрын
It just stays flooded out there now it looks like. Looks nice out there at the farm though. I'm interested to see how the riding goes once the swamp trails start to freeze and it gets real nasty. Looked like fun ripping it around the fields and the dirt track.
