Hi. like your video's, your out there doing it, I watch many bottle videos. One guy from Scotland use a brush to clean them off as they come out of the ground , it looks like a scrub brush, it cleans them up and you don't get to mucked up , just I would let you know, Thank you for your videos
@NebraskasEverything22 сағат бұрын
That’s a good idea, ours were pretty bad that day because of all the clay and moisture. Usually our privies don’t get to muddy in Nebraska and I’ve never even hit the water table. A brush would help a lot in the spring digging after a nice rain to

I saw that daffy's come out and really surprised! That is one bottle I have never dug. Those things show up in the oddest places and almost always in holes that are newer. Those are such a collectible bottle! That insulators is a pretty good score as well.

Sometimes those small quilted ground top flasks are embossed. They had a zinc cap that usually does not hold up well in the ground after 120 years. You guys found some great stuff! Plenty of nice drug store bottles too. That Leighton and Co is most likely a $ 300 plus dollar bottle!
@NebraskasEverything2 ай бұрын
It was a great dig, the Leighton is unknown and it’s already been offered 650 by Tom Askjem and as a professional digger he said it’s worth probably 1,000$

These old dumps where usually burned periodically to reduce their size. We dug through one in Mckeesport Pa. Came across a lot of great bottles, but they had a haze on them from the dump being set on fire.

Amazing that crock was still intact! So fun to see bottles coming up from Lincoln and Omaha. Have you ever dug one from Kostka Drug Co. in Lincoln? I found one in the bottom of one of my auction boxes years ago. (I actually collect old advertising cookbooks but I'm getting more interested in antique bottles the more I see LOL) :)
