Actually, one of the best mini vans ever built, second only to the Toyota. Also, one of the most reliable engines chevy has built. Mine has over 300K and still burns no oil between changes. Small electrical gremlins but to be expected for a 20-year-old van lol.

Well, my family and I had a 1999 Venture and drove it continuously for 20 years. It had over 350k miles on it. Sadly we lost it to a bad wreck a couple years ago. If it weren't for that, we'd still be driving it today. I'm sure some of them have some problems, but ours was great and we loved it. These ventures will always have a special place in my heart.

I've been living out of my gold 2005 venture for nearly 3 years. Breaks, a few headlights and blinkers, oil changes, and one battery. That's all I've had to deal with, and for a minivan its not that much of a nightmare to work on. His name is Nigel the gold nugget and I'm gonna drive him into the ground. Already put 75,000 miles on him. He had 100,000 when I got him.

It's just messed up from poor maintenance. I've seen BMW's and Mercedes worse than this, that doesn't mean they're bad cars. Just means they had bad owners. I've also seen a 1992 Honda a few weeks back that was in immaculate condition. That doesn't make Honda the best car out there, just means it had a respectful owner.

I still have my 2000 Chevy Venture van, 6 cyl, and have no idea what this guy is talking about. My engine has good acceleration. Never have had water in the headlights like he was claiming. Maybe he was used to a 8 cyl engine. I am glad I bought mine. Have 200K miles and has never burned oil. Yes the engine is cramped when working on it. Wish I could buy another.

Someone removed the wiper arm and reinstalled it in the wrong position. Park the wipers then remove whichever one(s) aren’t parked at the bottom where they belong and reattach them where they belong. Simple.

Ha ha. I have a 2005 that's on its way out. I'm a low income senior and have nothing saved for my next vehicle. Blah blah. My van has always had electrical problems. Rust is bad now. My God I tried to put brake fluid in it and it's nearly impossible. I mean there's no room to pour it in.

The only issue I had was a suddenly temparture problem. I've instantly bleed the cooling system and it's fine again. Also the back rockers on both sides will be changed. I hope to make a lot of km with the car.

First bigger repair I’ve had to do. Starter died at 243k. Probably partially my fault. Needed to change the oil pressure switch cause it was leaking, but was being lazy. It saturated the starter in oil which probably didn’t help.

I'm on my third Venture, and have had great service out of all of them. Why the third? The first one was a victim of a deer doing "Suicide by Car" and the second got knocked out from under me by a Toyota running a red light. The Venture has been my daily driver for the last 20 years and can't say anything bad about them!

I love mine, all cars need fixing but 200kplus lol how bout tell us the best one, u have zero evidence besides ur opinion that these suck. I currently have a 97(yes a 97) and I've been more than happy with mine. All machines require maintenance and unless ur a professional mechanic save the "they always' line. It doesnt sound educated, it sounds like LAZY. Ur mileage says it all. If you're going to take the energy to tell the world that poor you your 2,000k mileage van is having issues, be prepared for backlash in the comment section😁

We have a 2004 Chevy Venture with almost 500,000 kms on it, and it's running really well. While it was on warranty, the transmission was replaced. Model years of the Venture older than 2003 may have faulty head gaskets; something to keep in mind.

Has a lot to do with the old dexcool coolant. I switched to standard coolant when I got mine and all good. The old dexcool was acidic and would eat away at gaskets.

I did the front wheel bearings on my $500 2002 Venture. Rust in the rockers, otherwise, with the seats out this this handles great and goes like stink. Those front wheel bearings are a NIGHTMARE to remove. the hub bolts are the worst, and re-installing the lower control arm requires a trick you won't know until you realize it's the only way to do it. If I did it agian (which I never will) it would be a lot easier, particularly on my vehicle where all fasteners removed were wire brushed and slathered with anti-seize. In reality they were all in good shape having NEVER been removed probably! I also did both CV axles (drivers side required borrowing a slide hammer with CV Joint rt. angle removal jaw - once I had this it was very easy.

Just click bait troll. 1998 FWD Venture still going strong. More Ventures on the road today than other minivans of the era. More pickup than my son's 2011 Chevy Malibu. As Emperor Palpatine says, "power, unlimited power." I tested out the Caravan prior to buying the Venture in 2001 and the Caravan lacked power. Gasket did have issue, just replaced it a year back.

Tomorrow I'm scheduled to check out a 2002 venture with 100k miles $2500 asking price , and a 2006 sienna with 90k miles asking price . I'm told the sienna needs a shock spring replaced which looks like it will cost about $750 , which seems like a lot . The venture is claimed to be ready to go doesn't need anything right now . Any recommendations about which of these is the better option ?

Your absolutely correct I paid 500 for a 2003 Chevy venture and the front wipers only work on high one day they stopped working on low and intermittent. Drivers side brake lights stop working seems the sockets get super hot and the plastic melts so the bulbs dont get good connection. The bulbs are fine just the brake light socket warps. I now have to replace the entire circuit board even though the other 3 lights work perfectly fine. Heater only works half of the time and the temperature gauge goes crazy it like floats to hot then cold? Garbage van!

234752 miles. Mine has 314000, coolant's fans are common to get corrosion on the wires and burn in two causing overheating. Easy repair and a very trustworthy vehicle. Even if the intake gaskets or head gaskets need replaced this is one of the few engines I would actually do the repair as opposed to swapping the engine

Previous owner of mine decided it was a good idea to replace the 30 amp fan fuses with 60’s instead of finding what was blowing the fuses (bad motor drawing too much current). They ended up melting the terminals to the fan relays. I bought a small relay box and rebuilt the cooling fan circuit into that.

The tapping noise is the hot/cold blend door or the fresh/recirculate actuator trying to locate. A gear inside is failure prone. Try the other setting. My Montana (same van) usually clicks on fresh and stops clicking on recirculate. I’ve ordered a replacement. Anyway, this whole “nitrogen in the headlights” things sounds… inaccurate.
