This sounds very much like Something About Us by Daft Punk. I love it.

Tips for the Bonus Scales: The Dorian mode works very well on most chords except the B, it works particularly well over the G#. The Aeolian mode works very well over the B, but it's not good for the other chords! Enjoy!

Lovely, sweet stuff! It's interesting that you labelled this as "uplifting". It sounds like stuff that could have been played in a church youth gathering in my native Finland in the 90s. Is it still uplifting for a contemporary audience? :)

I was waiting for actual bonus _scales_ ;) But only dim7 arpeggios. One way to treat these dim chords is as dominants: D#dim7 = B7(b9) and G#dim7 = E7(b9)
@pocketjamtracksАй бұрын
Yes you are right, you could use mixolydian b9 for their respective dominants for example. I just tried something simpler and chose to do arpeggios this time. But I forgot to switch the timestamp to Bonus Arpeggios 🥲
@yzimsxАй бұрын
@@pocketjamtracks I subscribed to your channel, you're clearly putting thought and effort to this stuff and the tracks are nice and inspirational. _Reggae_ with dim chords and a secondary dominant, in a KZfaq backing track...? I'm interested in how videos could be used for teaching people about music, and guitarists in particular, a lot of whom seem to be pathologically fixated on scales being a law of nature dictated upon them. Things like chromatic alterations are completely beyond comprehension, or deliberately controlling harmony via sounding notes and chords. Maybe some day I can come up with a way to convey my insights somehow. Good luck to you and your channel!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the support. I actually started making backing tracks because I wanted specific chord progressions and grooves to teach my students about improvisation.
