A novice can do this however plan on double the time I did this job on my 2012 5.7 130,000 miles and now my 2021 5.7. 88,000 miles. Shame on RAM I had to do it again on the newer engine.

Just to clarify, the exhaust manifold warps first because they have been made with less material to help to decrease the overall vehicle weight. That's why the end bolts break because of the added stress caused by the manifold turning into a banana!

Is this supposed to be a delayed april fools joke or something? Plastic exhaust manifolds? Im sure it's cheap to pump these out on your ender 3 but this is real trucks were talking here. These will warp or crack like crazy assuming they dont melt after your first warmed up wot pull.
@kristenb-f3b6 күн бұрын
Someone obviously didn’t watch the whole video. They aren’t selling plastic manifolds they do 3D printed ones to ensure proper fitment before manufacturing them.
@BDDieselPerformance2 күн бұрын
Hi @lzziana, thanks for your comment. What you’re seeing in this video is a sneak peek into our research and development process. As part of that process, we use plastic 3D printed manifolds to test fit on real trucks to ensure the design is accurate before we get the production manifolds cast with high-silicone ductile iron from our Canadian foundry. We are NOT selling 3D-printed plastic manifolds. You are correct that plastic manifolds wouldn’t last long 😊.

Can this be added to a 2015 freightliner m2 6.7 cummins ??
@BDDieselPerformance9 күн бұрын
Thanks for your question, because this kit relies on the CAN bus for information we would expect that to be different on the Freightliner so it would likely not work. We do have universal air exhaust brake kits that may be of interest.

I was there at UCC. It was my first time. All the competitors were in a mad scramble to go from Dyno to sled pull trim. This was due to a rain delay on Saturday. I really like the behind the scenes tear down of the transmission's and the report on the problems and the tough to admit failures due to driver errors or simple incorrect adjustments. I have been there myself. Keep up the content.

The flow increase varies a little bit between the ports, but the average flow increase is about 25% (OEM avg 110cfm/port, BD avg 139cfm/port)

Aftermarket fixing OEM mistakes. Seems like a pita to install, but I am confident it will not be dropping a nut in my intake.

The installation is not high in difficulty, uses common hand tools plus the tools we include, and 90% of it is the same as a grid heater plate install.

Looks like it blocks air flow pretty bad has that been tested?
@murdoc479429 күн бұрын
That was my first thought too. The old bus bar was bent vertically to reduce the amount of air it would block. I like the BD solution, but I wish the bar was shaved down in the middle. I think the thickness there is WAY overkill for the current the heater grid pulls. Plus, I would guess that it is going to add a lot of turbulence. I think I'm going to just remove the bolt, and bus-bar from mine altogether. I don't live in Canada where it gets -40, so I don't think I need the heater grid to be functional anyway.
@BDDieselPerformance22 күн бұрын
The busbar blocks less than 10% compared to the OE, so negligible amount considering the turbulence caused by the heating elements and the very short span it is in the intake air path. The design was driven by the material selection and current draw of the heater. Not only does the bar need to prevent a melting nut from falling into the intake but it has to allow for full power of the heater.

Can I add anything to my 600 ho Allison tranny to get another 100hp outta it? Just curious the shop who installed told me for another 1200 bucks I could seeing how I only have a stealth 64mm turbo I can’t get over 640hp which is plenty enough for me just wondering. Also is it normal on a 77-86 degree day for my trans to run 192-207 temps? Thanks in advance

Thicker flanges on the manifold, I like the idea but doesn’t this just increase the risk of cracking the cylinder heads now?
@BDDieselPerformanceАй бұрын
Good question! The Longer fasteners, thicker manifold and thicker flangers will not increase the loads or stress experienced by the cylinder head. These upgrades allow the manifold and fasteners to survive the strain that already exists in the parts. These manifold upgrades will not have any effect on cylinder head cracking.
