That was an interesting story there, especially the part where our favorite medic who refuses to kill ends up smacking around Sgt. "Horror Show" (obviously Larry Hama had a heck of a time trying to come up with a Russian name for this behemoth of a character when he created him) in a contest to liberate his comrades from a gang of river pirates.

My take on the Sunbow Cartoons: It was because of those cartoons I never bought the Alpine and Bazooka action figures since I didn't want to bring a "Comedy Team" into my army, let alone one that it portrayed on screen as a simpleminded comedic sidekick to the smartassed black guy who ends his yodelings with "OH YEAAAHHHH!!". 30:10 - Do my eyes deceive me? In that screenshot, are those actual M-16 assault rifles and not the usual generic laser rifles that the Joes are holding? Another problem I have with the series was the overuse of the Ben Burtt sound effects catalog from the Star Wars films in many episodes, an example being when COBRA artillery fired upon the parking lot of the Red Rocket hamburger stand that Roadblock's family ran in the episode "Red Rockets Glare".

Thanks for the listen and comment. Alpine and Bazooka were not for everyone.That was a great aspect of the cartoon, something for everyone. And yes those are M16 Style firearms, they obtained those while raiding the military base to get supplies. Sunbow reused alot of sounds from Star Wars movies. They even uses them in the Transformers cartoon. Again, thanks for listening/watching.

Yes, the Gameboy Advanced version is a very different game than the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox versions of Batman Vengeance. It follows the same story as those versions, but it's gameplay is more akin to the Adventures Of Batman & Robin. It's basically Ubisoft's second attempt to make a New Batman Adventures version of the Adventures of Batman & Robin because their first attempt was the Gameboy Color game Batman Chaos in Gotham where it's a side scrolling adventure game. The Gameboy Advanced version of Batman Vengeance includes appearances from Robin and Nightwing as opposed to just being Batman and Batgirl. Also Harley Quinn is given an actual boss fight in the game, it's one of two Batman games to make Harley an actual boss the other being Gotham Knights, I don't count the predator boss from Arkham City's Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC. I do find it hilarious that the sequel to Batman Vengeance, Batman Rise of Sin Tzu, includes Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl as playable characters, only for the game to solely focus on Batman, none of his allies appear in the cutscenes just Batman & Gordon. I do like that Joker, Harley, Ivy, and Freeze appear in the Rise of Sin Tzu as connective tissue to Vengeance. I will Rise of Sin Tzu has wildy different gameplay opting for a beat em up instead of the action adventure game, which works for the co-op mode. If only the cutscenes acknowledged it was a co-op game. That's a game for another episode. Lastly, the podcast the DCAU Review did a Black Friday special on DCAU video games and they ended it with a top 3 DCAU games Batman Vengeance (PS2, GameCube, and Xbox version) was in their top 3 with Superman Shadow of Apokalips and The Adventures of Batman & Robin.

A few things I don't recall being mentioned when discussing the gameplay are that stealth takedowns and combo moves. Did you know that the powere meter that fills up bellow Batman's health bar enables you to perform a special move to save your bacon and take down a significant portion of your enemy's health bar. There are five available and you unlock them the more points you earn from completing levels. The last move you unlock is by having perfect scores on every level. Luckily it's automatically perfomed when you defeat Joker the first time. The Arkham games had a similar mechanic with the score multiplier to perfom a combat takedown or disarm during those freeflow combat sections. The stealth takedowns can performed if you have handcuffs in your utility belt and if you successfully sneak up on a guard and push the interact button you can handcuff a guard without fighting them. I only successfully performed those takedowns twice without using smoke bombs or the invisibility cheat. One of those times was by accident. Yeah, if a guard spots you and you disorient them using a smoke bomb you can sneak up behind them in the smoke to take them down. Definitely another thing the Arkham games borrowed from this game. Since I mentioned cheats, there are five cheats you can unlock in the game. Three of the cheats are found in hidden locations and two of them require a gliding challenge to obtain. All five them are in shiny envelopes. The cheats are unlimited gadgets, unlimited handcuffs, unlimited power meter (combo moves), unlimited health, and invisibility. The cheats become available when you complete the game and if you collect the envelopes. You can unlock the missing cheats by revisiting the levels after beating the game using the cheats you unlock. I wish the cheats applied to the vehicle levels.

Thanks! Forgot how good this one was. Gonna have to rewatch, but your review has me slightly open to the possibility 2 is better than original. (Never saw 3 or4 and probably never will). Leo is great addition with the comedy. The drive thru scene, I still live by it, always park and go in! And condom commercial scene, effing hilarious.

Remember, the fridging stuff and Simone only kicked off a few years after it had actually been published. I read it when it was new, it was a great story with great stakes. Sales performed well after this. Simone kicked off about it a few years after publication and got a job out of it. Lol It’s a fantastic book from a fantastic run. A seriously underrated key.

Yep, hitting me in the feels here. We had three malls here when I was growing up. Two of which are still around. The oldest one is on life support, but may bounce back. The other is still doing well. The mini-mall as we called it is long gone alas. My favorite stores were B. Dalton and Waldenbooks. I got so many things to read and was in both of their loyalty clubs. The K. B. was great. I remember getting D&D related stuff there. My only action figure, Grimsword, came from there. As well as the Endless Quest books and the Laser Tag RPG rule book. I could ramble on for so much, longer, but I'll leave ti with that. Thanks for sharing Jarrod.

S17 and Hogan's Heros are both based on the same root story. The pilot episode of HH was a variation of the movie/play. There's even a point where Newkirk is about to leave the hut and just randomly points out to some people playing darts that one of them got a bullseye. This is of course related to the initial reveal of Price as the spy when they're playing horseshoes. He gets the man to tell him how Dunbar blew up the train, and then immediately gets "a ringer" Since noticing the HH scene, I've always intended to go back and see if a similar nod to the spy is associated with the "bullseye" line.
@beauxguss63217 ай бұрын
I rewatched the HH pilot today... yep, the bullseye line takes place about 1 min after the team figures out the new prisoner is a German plant.
