I remember the old Bomber strip at Cunderdin well, in my youth, over 50 years ago, I used to “camp” there when I was in the SAS, we would get up before dawn and do 2 or 3 parachute drops before the winds got up, then laze around the rest of the day, until the late afternoon when the winds would drop again and we could get a few more jumps in for the day.

It's a cool spot. I visited two weeks ago! Did you see the old well a litte bit further down the road?
@WesternAustraliaNowAndThenКүн бұрын
Yes, the one fairly close to the building near the road. There is also one of Hunt's wells not too far away just south of Tammin.

Thankyou for this absolutely fantastic step by step video which instills confidence in the non tech savvy me. I don’t understand why I need the camera to capture licence plates when I can do that myself using my eyes and a notebook- provided I am not in too much shock? For me this seems good enough to capture others smashing into my car to surely be proof enough that I am not at fault. I don’t understand the need for an average driver to need more- am I missing something? When is enough enough?
@WesternAustraliaNowAndThenКүн бұрын
In the heat of the moment, especially in something like a hit and run, capturing a license plate could be useful. I think these cameras should be capable of doing that as I can mount a $100 second hand GoPro Hero 3+ and get the expected result. We also bought the next model up hoping for some improvement but the resulution was just as bad. It isn't a deal breaker but it is dissappointing.

I never appreciated it until I visited St Martins in the Fields in London. One of the Priests was eager to hear how the bells were going. He hadn’t yet been to Perth. I made sure I sent a video back to the church of the bells tolling.

@@WesternAustraliaNowAndThen I watch your videos for your stories. Music should generally be unobtrusive, most KZfaqrs" has a strong percussive beat that does my autistic head in. This is pretty good, but I'd have it just a little quieter.

@@oneeyedphotographer Ok, thanks. These videos are really not meant for the channel but for the clickable map as just a brief look at specific areas. I always have a bit of an issue with sound levels and haven't really worked out one that works for every video yet.

Yes, the call of the Red-tailed cockatoo is quite different from what is in this video. You have actually got the call of the Carnaby's Cockatoos there. But it is easy to make a mistake and you have a great collection of various calls. That is quite an accomplishment. To record good audio is more difficult than to record good images👍

Western Australia is the largest iron ore producer in the world. Western Australia is the second largest producer of gold in the world. You sort of covered it with the distances to other capital cities, but Perth is the most isolated capital city in the world. But another interesting fact, If you were to take Perth and plonk it in the US, it would become the 4th largest city in the US. It would be the second largest city in the UK. It would be the second largest city in a lot of other countries in the world and would actually eclipse the size of most countries capital cities.
@WesternAustraliaNowAndThen8 күн бұрын
Physical size wise, yes Perth is huge, very spread out and spreading further every year. We have never learned to build up.
