There is an old wise tale about how Atlanta came to be as a mega airport. The CAA, Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA), predecessor to FAA, was looking for a cross-country airport, they literally drew an 'X' and it landed on, not yet, Birmingham, AL. The government officials went to tell the good folks of Birmingham how lucky they were going to be and the officials of Birmingham politely declined to the demands of being a large airport. Rejected, they went to the next closest city, Atlanta; where city official were more than happy to make the necessary changes to become a regional airport.

Good video, but as a Dutchman and having been flying KLM for ages, I would say: avoid flying KLM - there are far way better companies. If you ever have to deal with their so-called Customer 'care'.....

You can always tell TOGA power when there are two noticeable detents. The 321 with CFM engines is underpowered and takes a long time to climb to crz. Although not as underpowered as the 340-300 with the CFM engines. That almost seems scary to get airborne at such a shallow climb.

Nice video! I love this airport(ATL)! I also like riding the infamous "plane train" inside the terminals! Indeed, they are very fast! But you almost have to hold on when they leave and come to a stop! They don't mess around! I know you use the Skyclub being you are first class. Me personally, I fly economy class and dine at the many restaurants they have inside the airport. No complaints there for me! Paschal's is the very best! I hope your flight to Vegas was enjoyable that day! Yes, Delta Airlines is a step above both American and United Airlines. They are the best in my opinion! I love the view of the huge cumulonimbus cloud at 18:07. Yes, they get summer thunderstorms occasionally.

I want to go to Miami one day, O hare airport is 10 minutes from my house I'll either take a flight from O hare to the Miami International Airport OR I might just take a road trip from here all the way to miami as I do love to drive

Road trips are nice, we drove from Chicago to Tampa which was 1200 miles but Miami will be around 1500 miles. You get to see beautiful states like Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia!

@@GBraidi78 oh ok, well if I do I'll be driving from here Chicago where I live, all the way to Miami. Which would be like a 19 or 20 hour drive in total.

Just a question, is 3 hours ahead enough time to arrive at Mobile? I'm flying to London Heathrow from Mobile with an Atlanta layover, in February. It'll be my first time flying alone. Also, do you think an hour and 25 minute layover is enough time for Atlanta?

3 hours is way more than enough time for Mobile, the airport is very small. I fly out of there a lot and honestly I never show up more than an hour before departure. And yes, 1hr 25min is plenty for an ATL connection, ATL is big but is very easy and efficient to get around, no need to worry.

Was booked from Las Vegas to Buffalo, paid extra for the seat next to hubby. Going inside the plane, the agent at the gate switched my seat to another. Her intention must be to create chaos , with two passengers fighting.

Interesting and informative flight. My spouse and I were originally planning to fly Lufthansa Premium Economy to Frankfurt, Germany from Toronto on our way to Croatia, but now, might change that to KLM Business Class to Amsterdam from Toronto on our way to Croatia as the increase in price amounts to just over $300 CDN. For the difference in comfort as well as food, it appears to be a no-brainer option.

Usually United make boarding announcements very early and say they will begin the boarding process shortly and do not board for another 10-15 minutes and then preboard, then family boarding as well as active military then general boarding with first class and all the other zones
