I feel sad hearing that when I found out. I came back to rewatch this for the memories. They could've won the cup that year. I hope they keep the coyotes name, or i would be even sadder to not hear the coyote howl.

They keep saying relocate the Coyotes to Quebec City but I prefer relocating the Columbus Blue Jackets instead. It makes no sense having an NHL team in a godforsaken place in the middle of nowhere like Ohio. Columbus only serves to make Arizona, Atlanta and Hartford look better. Plus, relocating the Blue Jackets would not cause a complicated Conference and Division realignment. Also, as of 2023, Columbus has only advanced past the 1st round once in their 20+ years as a franchise while Phoenix/Arizona has went further than Columbus, though no SCF appearance.

People don't even know how great a player he was. I remember when he became the first Red Wing to score 50 goals, and he did it in consecutive seasons when hardly anyone did it once. Retired at 28 with a bad back. Tremendous wrist shot.

You can already hear just how much they've aged listening to their broadcasts. Part of it must surely be due to the Red Wings being a subpar team for the last 6-7 years, but the excitement and vigor and energy they had in their earlier calls have become somewhat tempered and restrained. I watch as many games as I can and cherish every word those two speak.

I’m super late but after the coyotes got kicked out of Gila river arena, they could leave Arizona. I hope that they build a new future so they could stay in Tempe. Hockey can work in the desert. Build a winning team and fans will show up.

You see it just doesn't though. This was TEN YEARS AGO now and they haven't been back to the playoffs since. And no the 2020 play-in series doesn't count because regularly they wouldn't have made the playoffs that year.
