Which autocharge app did you use to set it up? There are lots of apps called autocharge in the Google Play Store for Android phones.
@turbolaban3 ай бұрын
You need to use the app from the charging operator. Same as you would use to start charging normally. So still need to download and register in an app for each company, but after that it should start automatically. Not all companies support this, and I think there is also a competing standard.

Interesting watch. I've been interested in the Experia, currently on a self-built 7kWh supermoto of sorts, but it's interesting to see that the batteries on the experia start heating up on multiple cycles just like my current setup. Makes me feel less guilty as an engineer, haha. Er du norsk eller? Håper å flytte den veien senere..
@turbolaban3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Self builds are awesome :) You did it completely on your own? What kind of batteries and motor are you using? Really need active cooling of the battery if we want to avoid heat buildup, I think. Unless riding in a very cold environment.The Experia has a pretty good range, at least when not riding highways, so usually I only need 1 charge during the day, if any. Og, ja... Er norsk :)

How’s your range doing? Matias and his spreadsheet recons 160-250 km while keeping battery in the good range.
@turbolaban4 ай бұрын
Those numbers seem pretty aligned with my experience. Looking at 150-200 km on highway and 250-300 km when going slower on twisty roads, including the mountain passes. Speed really is the major factor when it comes to range. I think the longest I did on this trip was around 270 km without charging, but then I still had a reasonable amount of battery left.

@turbolaban8 ай бұрын
Hi. I will probably mention range in some other episode. I do at least intent to do a summary at the end, where this would be included. But anyway, here are at least some details. I must admit that I forget to pay much attention to these things. I take breaks when I ride anyway ;) At 115 - 120 km/h: Range looked to be around 150 km. Lowering the speed to between 90 and 100 km/h brought me back to around 200(+) km of range. I am not sure how much the rain impacted range. I was more focused on getting out of the rain. Luckily, most days the worst rain happened in the afternoon when I was looking for a place to stop anyway. I tried to stop every hour when riding. If battery was low-ish I found a place with a charger. I did have quite a bit of buffer, so could have gone a lot lower before charging. Only arrived at charger below 20% a couple of times. Range when I start riding in the mountains will be pretty nice

Hello, nice video footage! I have a friend who has an Energica Ribelle who says on highway trips by about the third time charging the battery starts to throttle the charging speed. Just wondering if your max speed on the road is also throttled when the battery is hot or is it just the charging speed when you stop to charge?
@turbolaban8 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes, throttling of charging speed happens when doing multiple charges on highway trips. I have not noticed anything while riding. Note that I have not pushed the bike to its speed limit, so can't say for sure if anything happens in the upper range.

I test rode one of these last week, very impressed. Looking to rent one in the next few weeks to fully experience it. The only thing that lets her down here in Australia is our charging infrastructure. Most of our charging stations are along the coast, but where all the good motorcycle roads are, the charging infrastructure is few and far between. Hopefully, in the future, more charging infrastructure will roll out, making one of these bikes the only way to go.

If Energica wants to advertise their DC charging as a selling point, they'll have to make sure that they're compatible with 100% of stations, because DC stations are rare enough as it is (at least in France, they're found mostly on Highways). The reliability of the overall charging experience is really a sore point for EVs, whether it's faulty stations, the need for several cards or dedicated apps, charging sometimes only working after 2-3 attempts, incorrect station address in the apps, ICEing... It's good that TESLA opened their superchargers to non-Tesla, I charged my Zoé there without problem, setting my ChargeMap pass as the payment method in the Tesla app.
