I take exception to the generalisation of junkies, prostitutes and crims, all lazily put in the same box. Sometimes people wind up in terrible conditions through no fault of their own- whether it be mental health issues, family problems resulting in terrible parenting and role models, etc. A lot of people don't choose to be on welfare and/or barely educated- I mean, who would?! It just hits a nerve when people judge and criticise others without taking into account how people actally end up that way. I know how lucky I was to be spared from a life of drugs, crime and mental health issues, and as a result I have strong feelings about such societal problems. A cool video nonetheless! Cheers

This railway line carried passenger services and coal trains from Maitland to Cessnock. Passenger Services ceased in 1975 and coal trains were using the line up until 2020. There are remnants of railway stations along the corridor including East Greta station which is sloped at a very weird 45 degree angle before the line crosses the adjacent road next to the station, North Kurri Kurri station, Weston station, Neath station, Caledonia station and Abermain station. The line continues until Cessnock and was originally double track. Cessnock station was demolished and development was built on the site of the former station. Hopefully one day they restore this stretch of railway and run passenger services again. It would be so cool!

Welcome to parks NSW ! You spend more time looking for signage of tracks , than you actually spend walking the trails ! I met a volunteer once who was telling me how he and others maintain the tracks and signs around Sydney’s NPs ! I said I did a lot of hiking in Qld and their signage for NPs up there is great ! Why can’t NSW being the oldest of parks have decent signage and placing of signs in appropriate places as there are tracks running everywhere ! He reckoned there was nothing wrong with their signage in NSW ! You can’t win ! I always try to use paper maps when I can in NSW , when they’re available !

I hope you got the information you were looking for ! When I went to Skippy’s house they gave me a map of Kurrungai NP and told me there was a walk that ended at Cowan Railway station . This must be it and that was the back end but I thought where I was starting would take me two days to do it but I gave it a miss ! So what did you rate the walk ? I miss Sydney and it’s NPs ! It’s pretty flat out my way and the closest NP is the Grampians - which I have to explore soon ! Another great video - I like your videos because they remind me of myself usually going along the game trails and old fire trails !

@@rose-anngoldhawk7405 unfortunately I didn't get the information I was after. It did though confirm walking with a group like this is not for me. I like doing walks alone or with one or 2 other people I know & trust. As for the day out? It was a great walk but when you have done as many explores as I have it rates right down the list. The best way to sum it up is, once is enough. A lot of the other adventures I have done I would do time & time again. Thanks for watching and your kind words about my uploads.

I went hiking with some friends to Leura Cascades and falls , in late 2015 - 2016 . There was hardly any water and more sandy bottom . It was lightly sprinkling but you certainly get a real water show when it pours up there ! I drove back to Melbourne through the back of Katoomba on the Great Western. highway ! You certainly have some great God’s beautiful country there ! I love the Central coast too In time I would love to hike some of the places you have been to , they look fantastic ! When you went through to the infinite pool I got dizzy watching you scurry across those wet slippery rocks and was agrophic when you panned across the canyon ! If I tried to do that I would be over the edge of Leura Falls !

The Blue Mountains is my favorite place to explore. Especially in winter. All my videos are a guide on places one can visit, but i don't advise anyone to take the risks i do. I should really stop doing it at my age also. It's the child within me cause that's all we did in the bush as young kids. I could climb like a monkey and had the balance of a mountain cat. So far those attributes still remain with me along with a wise mind that keeps me safe. Thanks for watching and commenting.

It’s one of those giant red fire torch plants you see growing along the Sydney Hawkesbury River area ! They have giant broad leaves which are usually greenish yellow and the bloom grows in the middle of the plant and can reach the length a couple of metres tall , almost like a tall boy ! Beautiful plants for the area - that’s what that structure was made of and the leaves covering it ! Kurringah Chase has similar petroglyphs with the man and the boomerang!

Firstly, I'm not a footy fan. I do remember how crazy some kids would get about footy cards. They'd swap card's, play games like "closies" where whoever thew closet to a wall without touching it won. There was my favourite to watch "throw downs" where they would each stand a number cards against the wall, then take turns knocking them down. The winner was the first to knock the last card down and collected every card played, plus both stacks. So many fights started over boys playing footy card games that they got banned at school. Around this year you've covered was the biggest year for them at my school. I had no idea there was a giant picture on the back of them.

Ther wasn't many inhabitants there prior to colonisation, but it was definitely used as a relocation area for some displaced indigenous people. The cultural significance of the area is completely valid though. The hanging tree (literally what it sounds like) along with the natural spring, should've been enough for the race track to have never been built. Let alone displacement of the same peoples for a second time.

How does the market economy respond to excess retail space? In theory, rents are lowered. In Australia these days they'll put rents up and leave shopping centres like this abandoned for decades. In that time, the property value of this centre has increased 10x! Total insanity!
