The concept of Fireborne is amazing but the quality of writing failed in so many ways. It was a mechanical read. My feelings were so hurt. I'm going to try the Pern series (Dragondawn. Dragonsong, Dragondrum, etc)

I almost dnf this one. It's overhyped imo but at the same time the circus was beautiful. The love story was just sooooo baaaaaaaaaaad. No connection whatsoever. I didn't buy it like why do they even like each other?!! It's so much wasted potential bec the idea of expressing your love in creating tents FOR each other is so romantic yet wasted bec the rship isn't believable. imo it would have been better if we knew the stakes and the rules but bec of the rship they turn the game into a show love rather than a show of ability. How Marco treated Isabell was also a big letdown. Some other elements had potential too like the plot with the sisters but when added all up the plot is meh The characters are imo flat with absolutely no growth. I didn't care about any of them. EXCEPT for the circus. I think it does stand on its own as a character. I'd argue it is the mc. So vivid and love how it formed this phenomenon and brought so many ppl together (the fans, the dress code) and how it evolved over the course of the story. I agree that the description is so misleading but the title is not. If we look at the book as a story of the circus like some sort of memoir then it holds pretty good and doesn't need much of a plot. Its marketing is a just big mistake.

ugh i loathed the sneaking missions, both restricted and the demiguise. to add insult, they were mandatory. when i first did the demiguise sneaking, i did not know it was another stealth mission or i would've stalled and explored the castle more

I disagree, and respectfully, I don’t think you understood the book. It’s not perfect by any means, but some of your criticisms are directly addressed in the text. With that said, not all books are for everyone, and that’s ok 👍

I agree with you 100% I’m trying to read Fireborne and I just don’t like it. I loved Fourth Wing so much, there’s barely any mentions of the dragons in Fireborne and I don’t care about politics enough for it to take over so much of the plot. And I’m so confused if it’s a love triangle or not, I might have to dnf it 😭

Okay look girl! 1. Fourth wing is chefs kiss , it was all action and fun. And very “modern” feeling. Loved it 5 stars. 2. Fireborne the first book I gave 3 stars and only cared enough about it to start the audiobook for the second one. But BAAABBYYYY when I tell you that it picks up in the second book. Everything you’re learning and seeing all comes back and all the action is in the second book. The third one absolutely shattered my world. 😭 I wish I could give book 2 and 3 10000/5 stars. It’s so worth it to keep going. By far my #1 fantasy books bc of the emotional impact it had on me. 3. Iron flame, book 2 of fourth wing just didn’t do it for me. It took SOOO long to get to anywhere good. I wasn’t nearly as excited and enthralled as I was at the end of fourth wing. Everyone has their own opinions but I think that Fireborne *series* has the strengths and emotional impact that I feel fourth wing lacks a bit.

Have you ever thought of taking on any Gene Wolf books. Im thinking maybe but could be entirely dark.

The amnesia plot-line was so underwhelming. More than half the book was Evangeline meeting and trying to remember things that had happened to her in the previous books, which we as reader are already aware of. It made the story boring in my opinion. And why was this more of an Apollo-Evangeline story. The Apollo arc did not even play a part in bringing Jacks and Eva together. Jacks who was supposed to be the MMC appears like a side character. There are some loose ends that never get tied up. Didn’t like the lukewarm ending. I mean the whole thing about Jacks being cursed to never find true love, ended with Eva’s self-conviction…I mean…what? 😅😅😅

Rebecca Yarros definitely got her "inspiration" for Fourth Wing from Firebourne. Honestly it gives fanfic vibes after reading Firebourne (which was published first).

so what books would you recommend instead of the Unhoneymooners, I just finished it and I am looking for another book that resembles it greatly.

I tried to read this for my book club and DNF'd after about 45%. There's just nothing. It's just pages and pages of description. I really just think the author just had the idea of a cool circus that only opens at night and just wanted to write descriptions of it and had to pigeon hole a plot in there. It was a snooze fest.

Regarding the book of good girls guide for murder - you’d be surprise how incompetent police are in real life. so many cases regarding innocent ppl behind bars or cold cases can be attributed to the cop not giving a damn and being so bad at their jobs

I watched another video and what ur talking about how photoshop ised to have the Pantene codes....the video said that illustrator has that...and that's how she gets her codes...she imports her inage into illustrator and there's a tool that will automatically choose the closest pantone color to your actual color!! I was pretty upset by my box 😞 Because I live in Canada, I had to pay close to $100 with shipping and taxes. The mug was not their best one that I've seen. I agree that the lid is a bit extra and I don't hate the mug, I just think it's a bit underwhelming for a last crate. And it sucks that I paid this much to have a paper crown, a sticker, and a bad joke as items in a party cracker. To top it off, my blanket has a large, crusty brown stain on it that looks like feces. I emailed them about it, but they haven't responded yet. Hopefully, they get back to me about it.

This was a disappointing last box. Glad now that I never made it on the wait list. I would have been so sad, especially since their box is so expensive for what you get. You need to pay a lot for the add ins and the add ons are usually the wow item. But just too expensive.
