I’m happy to say I never fell for the Amazon way of life with my hammocks and gear. 4 of your hammocks. 4 Hammock Gear quilts and a Hammock Gear hex tarp. A Warbonnet rectangle tarp with doors. All have served me well for several years. Buy once and do your best to take care of it.

Never fart in ur hammock.

The asym design is determined by the bug net or top cover, which dictates lying direction. In an asym hammock, you can only lie one way (head left or head right); lying the other way will be uncomfortable. The only way to change it is to flip the top cover/bugnet. The hammock body itself isn't what's symmetrical on our hammocks, so being double layer doesn't affect anything. You would flip the bugnet or top cover, not the hammock body.

Can this still be flipped around to switch up lay-position? Or does inner body always have to be the most innermost?

Just seeing this for the first time. I made myself a couple of these several years ago to use with a Hi-Lift. Using tow of them replaced the chain set up as a progress capture when using the Hi-Lift as a comalong. Love the bag idea.

I am a 5'4" 57yo female. I bought a Warbonnet XLC 2 years ago. If I get it hung just right, I can actually STOMACH sleep in it. I once slept 11 straight hours in my XLC for the first time since I was a teenager! No problems side sleeping in it either. I prefer to use a blow up U shaped travel pillow with the curve of the U at my neck so I can turn left to right and still sleep comfortably. Also a blow up rectangle pillow between my knees to reduce lumbar pressure. (I do this at home as well). I bought the double layer expecting to use my sleep pad between, but that really does not work very well so I definitely recommend an under quilt. Once I invested in an under quilt, I camped on the TN river with a friend who was in a tent. The next morning, she reported that a SEVERE thunderstorm had moved thru overnight. I stayed off the ground, warm and dry and never woke up!

Adventures with the Marine brought me to your gear! This looks exactly like what I'm looking for!

So can the Chameleon double layer be used with a sleeping pad only, without an UQ - or is that just additional insulation? Any limitations, what type of pads fit? What about inflatable ones like the TaR X-Lite? Mummy? Large? rectangle? Thanks!

Hamburg, PA store is the biggest. It was the flagship store for Cabelas. I work right down the road from it, used to go there several times a year. It has changed a lot since Bass Pro bought Cabelas, big change inside from hunting/camping to fishing. They sell and display very few sporting rifles and recently were found to be giving gun purchasing info to the government.
