What room type was this? Is this a junior suite corner room? I see there is no terrace in this room type.

Is it really all you can eat Picaña?
@restaurateurtravels6 күн бұрын
One tip is to ask the server as soon as you sit down, which meats you want them to bring out. They usually bring out the lower end meat and then when you are fully stuffed they'll bring out the good meats...but they do have Picana all you can eat!

I won't recommend this resort to anyone, especially if you travel with a group. At the MB restaurant they tried to give us an alternate menu because we were in a group. When we complained to the manager of the restaurant, we got a rude response and he actually said "then leave." We did confirm the menu with our butler because we had people with restricted diets. Several of us also had to change rooms due to inferior air conditioning.
@restaurateurtravels9 күн бұрын
Yes we also didn't have the greatest experience at MB, they basically tried to kick us out while we just got our meals!

I don’t mean to come off as rude but from my experience coming from New York City I have yet to experience any ethnic food (Italian, Greek, Spanish, Pizzerias, Bakeries etc.) that comes remotely close to authentic here in Texas. Texas has BBQ and Tex-Mex on lockdown and a few good steakhouses but that’s about it in my honest opinion. Other than that, Houston is flooded with chain restaurants. This place looks nice but it’s an Italian restaurant. How do you combine Italian and Irish together? A jazz band? Tres Leche as a dessert? Almond crusted chicken as an entrée? Although well plated, the food doesn’t look like it should. I guess if you’re a local from Texas that’s all you know. As for strong cocktails, i’ve never heard anyone complain about that. If anything people complain about drinks being watered down. The prices were extremely fair though. I can’t say anything about that.
@restaurateurtravels5 ай бұрын
You are right! I haven't really found a restaurant in Houston that I can brag about. We do really good steakhouses for sure.. also Indian food and fast food! Our Indian restaurant has been around since 1989! As far as drinks being too strong, It would have been better phrased as the drinks were not balanced, I could taste cheap liquor and I'm used to drinking and creating craft cocktails. Hope you find something you like here in Texas!

Thank you for such a detailed video! I’m trying to see if club 91 is worth it. It totals out to an extra $500 for our 4 night stay for 2 people. Honestly the food you got by the pool looked fire. Can you clarify on what food is free with club 91? Like is it only free if you eat the food in the club? If you get food anywhere outside club 91 so you need to pay for it? I appreciate any feedback you might have! I also love pizza and I feel like I’ll be eating at the pizza place a lot. I feel like that’s not included also.
@restaurateurtravels6 ай бұрын
It has a buffet 3x a day. Unlimited alcohol and soft drinks during the opening hours. I think it is worth it. Everything outside the Club 91, you have to pay for. You can even take some water and drinks from the lounge to the beach ;)

There isn't anything proprietary going in a restaurant kitchen that all other restaurants don't know about already, especially at Carbone, give me a break. As cooks and/or chefs go and stage at tons of different places and then get jobs elsewhere. You don't think that they bring those recipes or techniques back to other place? If you are a 2/3 star Michelin place, that might come into play. But at any other restaurant, I don't think so. But I do love Carbone, but only in NYC, Las Vegas and Miami cannot compete with NYC at all.
