Jimmy Perez had the emotional intelligence that is so needed. And he perfectly fit the role.

Hi, thanks for uploading this SRK interview. This part is of lower quality than the other parts, any chance you can upload 2_1 of 6 with higher/same video quality as the other parts?

I remember him aa Professor Nick Cutter from Priimeval
@giftheck Жыл бұрын
Cutter would have had a field day in the story of seasons 4 and 5. Pity they killed him off, but if ever they brought Primeval back, they could reasonably bring him back. Just pull an S1/S2 and say that Connor and Abby changed the world enough in the Cretaceous that he didn't actually die (it's already weird their presence did absolutely nothing to the present day, yet Predator babies in the Permian did) Regarding Douglas Henshall leaving, his reasons... kinda track. Season 2 did wind up feeling a bit less personal, a bit more 'monster of the week'. However, season 3 wound up being much more like that because of the need for space to introduce new characters to take the place of Cutter and Jenny. Seasons 4 and 5 feel to me much more close to the tone of the first series, while upping the stakes appropriately. Even so: I love it all and would love for at least one more go.

He is such a talented actor. I marvel at his performance in Shetland; you can see his character's emotions subtly reflected in his facial expressions... pity, love, friendship, shock, and anger...

The moment when nick came back through the Anomalie and Claudia was gone still fucks me up to this Day. Nothing were the same after that. Nick lost in an alternate timeline, not the one he belongt to. Primeval is so much more than a Dinosaur show!

4:43 As the fan reviews had shown most people did not appreciated the scenes with Andrew Lee Potts, especially those in the early episodes. As the Americans phrase it his role had been developed "much to campy" ( more in the sense of silly and overly jesting ) It defentetly had been not a good idea to orientate his figure on XANDER from Buffy. Xander had been just a pubertiring schoolboy but not a pedigry senior student already doing his distertation in both varietiies of reality. So his role never sticked to the inteded situations in the show

1:00 ABOUT SHOOTING IN AMERICA: nice comment but since the Nineties the filim and TV series production had moved on to Vancouver and Toronto mostly because of the tax benefits.

6:17 SHE IS IN THE TRAILOR SO THAT DID NOT SURPRISE ME. - this is something some more fans more conscious for details from the first time on don´t like about the way the episodes were done. You find such remarks in a couple of fan clips to the show.

I only found the Shetland novels recently. Love them - but couldn’t visualise Jimmy Perez at all. Until I found the series on BritBox. Ah ! found the man. Perfect casting - Henshall is Perez!! Hope Willow Reeves appears in the next series- meanwhile I am re reading the books to get me through current lockdown.

Interesting. I read the books a few years ago. Jimmy had dark hair and eyes. I was confused to see him in the TV series. It took me a few episodes to accept the change. But, DH has won me over!

This is why people who are 'responsible' for a series, movie or book need to be cognizant of the fact that their actions affect others. So if cutting corners, or mixing it up or just messing with characters for the fun of it , is their motivation the audience gets screwed, and instead of entertainment it becomes emotional rape. That's what they did with this show, took characters people enjoyed and cared about and played a game of emotional volleyball with them, leaving only mass causalities. I can't imagine what it would be like to be an actor playing a character you have come to enjoy and find yourself at the mercy of someone else's ill-conceived motivations.
