This video is just nit picking. The tools work and have a great warranty. They tried to bring manufacturing back to the US which was nice. It didn't work out for them, but the sets they made are fine. I find some rusty sockets here and there from Taiwan, China, and even Germany produced tools. Just wipe off any loose rust and coat with oil or silicone as you would for any tool you accidentally leave outside over night. I bought both of the US sets and so far they haven't shown any signs of rust. Hopefully, they'll try again in the US, but maybe this time focus on some specialty tools that don't have as much of a saturated market as ratchets and sockets.

If you don’t want to spring for cordless pro model, use an Amazon battery power pack with 110v outlet. Pretty cheap on prime day

I've been designing a "plate" for the holes in the strut tower you mention around 11:07. As of right now the plate allows me to mount a MAP sensor, boost controller, Radium catchcan, and ChaseBays fuel filter. I did this to avoid drilling holes in my freshly painted engine bay. I'm sure I could modify it to fit anything you might want to put there. LMK if you're interested.

@@robcadwallader that's a great idea! I thought about making an aluminum plate or mount of some sort too and I left that idea since it would take additional time that I currently don't have.

@@thegaragehub lmk if you'd like to see the plate! I own an S14 and don't have access to an S13 at the moment but I'm happy to send you a 3D printed plate to test fit. Keep in mind, you shouldn't use that one as it will soften under normal engine bay heat, but it would be nice to know if it fits.

You can put a copper line through the hose and bend it to the shape you want, heat it to about 250-300F and keep it there for about 5 minutes then throw it in the freezer for an hour, pull the copper tube out and you're done. Only 90 degree bends are a pain as you will have a real fight to get the hose off the copper tube, for that I drill a few holes into a piece of sheet metal, enter some bolts through the holes and place the hose in between the bolts so it would stay in place as its being heated.

I have one, its nice to mess around with but its slow compared to my 7cfm pump. Since most units have a service outlet it doesn't really make sense for me to use it. Probably sell it and move to the Milwaukee m18 vacuum if i decide to go cordless.

How about larger diameters? My current issue is a 1-1/2" fuel fill hose that I can't find OE or even similar. All I have is straight to start with, one end with maybe about 40deg and the other about 15deg - bigger spring, I guess...

Steam starts at 212 degrees at sea level, but it can be much hotter under pressure. If your not looking for a reason to buy the nifty steam cleaner, you could just place the hose into pot of boiling water while it is restrained in the position you want. Leave it boil for a few minutes and then cut the heat and cold dip it or if you have time, leave it in the hot water until cooled to ambient temp.

Pulling through your manifold is going to slow your vacuum process down. I like to connect with vacuum hoses directly to the unit. Also that is a 2CFM pump, I think it did a damn good job. I would like to see a micron gauge directly hooked to the vacuum pump by itself and see if the pump can really achieve the 23 microns it's rated for. Also has a low oil capacity, so for clean new installs, it might work, but if your pulling on dirty line-sets and compressors, to me looks like a no go. Also no gas ballast. I looks like a great tool for automotive though and I am sure that is the intention for this unit. That's might though.

There is a recent review on KZfaq that shows this vs the Navac and it does just that. I think they stopped out around 27 microns.

I bought this pump for automotive use. Replaced my ac compressor and it was awesome to not have to rely on a power cord. Later on today once the sun goes down I'm going to replace a solenoid on my wifes cars ac compressor. This is probably my favorite Hercules tool as this Texas heat is no joke. The fluid extractor is a great idea. I need to look into that to do oil changes and transmission fluid changes on my vehicles.

I don't know any technicians that pull anything down with a quarter inch hose except for maybe a recovery tank. At least from what I've seen in the field 3/8" is the standard minimum for a vacuum hose nowadays.

Good question! The instructions don't specify. However, this isn't a recovery machine so refrigerants should not be going through it if you have purged the system appropriately. Perhaps more to come.

The problem that 3/8 flare ( the biggest port) is at 90 degrees to main gallery. That fact is negating the whole “bigger opening” theory, for vacuum. Should have been the biggest port is aligned or at least “Y” to the main gallery

The springs obviously work, and some are saying you can use sand, but I am wondering if air pressure would also suffice... I think I may have to experiment with plugging up one end, then connecting the other to my air compressor, and perform some bending tests. I'm thinking 60-100 psi could work, but that is just a guess.... I have some Schrader tire valve stems that could possibly work to inflate the tubes just like a tire to a specific psi. Then couple that with a 1" pegboard array and you might just have a bending factory by placing batches in an oven until soft, then remove and quench.. The only caveat is how much extra pressure the heat would add, so maybe start out on the low side of a kink free pressure. (if it even works).
