The 30 seconds are NO disadvantage for Magnus. In fact, they are for no player who is a stronger player than their opponent. Here is why... Alex has 5:00 minutes, Magnus has 30 seconds. Let's say, Alex plays really fast and only uses 30 seconds herself. Both players have now 1 minute to think. In this case, Magnus is expected to win. He's the stronger player, after all. So, Alex should take her time, right? But every second she takes extra is a second that Magnus can use to think, too. And since Magnus is the stronger player, he will use every single extra second IN A BETTER WAY than Alex can. So, Magnus is still expected to win. You could give her hours extra and it wouldn't change anything.

I am no expert, but what if he played QB1 check? Wouldn't that force a check and if black moves king, then take the rook and after rook takes queen back, then take the white queen. If black takes the queen, then take white queen back? Most probably I am missing something..
