Thanks for watching them! It was so long ago when I first tried to make videos. I am still learning. It is a fun hobby when I get the chance to play. Katia had lost so much weight after Sergei died. She was always so tiny. It was hard to see her wear her grief on her fragile body back then,. Still, I admire the strength in this tiny, young woman to face her grief before all the world in her program. It was a very special gift to their fans. I don't know what words were exchanged between her and Sergei laughing on the medal podium, but it makes me happy to see them so happy and laughing. They worked so hard to present themselves so effortlessly! How I adored them. 💜

It's about a hardworking, working class woman who finds out she has 6 months to live. She has cancer of the gallbladder. She quits her job, for once, puts herself first, takes a dream vacation to Okinawa, Japan and tries to embrace what life she has left, even making a bucket list of things she wants to do. He is the son of the CEO and is reluctantly going through life. Depressed ever since his mother died when he was young, he vowed to not love again because how badly losing a loved one hurts. They meet, fall in love, and when she realizes how deeply they are falling for each other, she tries to break things off with him to spare him from hurt, even they both love each other so much. Her father died of cancer when she was young, so she understood his pain. Ultimately, they both realize life is better when you are with the one you love, for none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow. This is a drama about appreciating life and love. It's very touching. I loved the actors and the story. I guess that's obvious! LOL!

@@mirnalinim1204 ,as this series chose to focus more on living than dying, you are given an honest ending. She is alive at the end. She is happily living life with the man she loves, but the reality is she still has terminal cancer for which there is no cure. The lesson to be learned is to live a life with no regrets, and always love those you love like there is no tomorrow. Never stop living, fighting for life and love! She starts another bucket list 😊

I haven't seen the film, but it seems interesting (I read the plot on Wikipedia) and, regardless of the action scenes and violence, a film with a lot of depth and introspection.

It was a long drama with much suffering. When a child grows up ripped from his mothers love and and protection, the consequences are painful and sad. It was a hard watch.

@@yayyayfan Why the hell do we have to be so fascinated by tragic love stories? The legends, from Babylon onwards, are full of them. Literature is no exception. Why? I felt sorry for Sergei's death, but since I have malignant cancer (which I fight against with the utmost determination and conviction to win, it was diagnosed early on) I am obsessed with the two of them. Maybe because I'm single, even though I have a great relationship with my ex-wife and my daughter. I don't want compassion for myself, I don't deserve it and I don't want it. I would like to understand why now not a day goes by without me wanting to see a clip of them. I am an atheist, so for me the loss of Sergei is permanent and irrecoverable, there will be no reunion in heaven. It would be more convenient to be religious, in some way, but it's not for me. I often think about the first night Katia came home and went to bed alone, with Sergei's smell on the other pillow. A double bed is really big when you are alone. And she woke up alone the next morning. Sorry, my friend for the outburst.

@@carlosanguineti956, I'm so sad to hear of your diagnosis. I hope you will keep fighting! I think Sergei and Katia touched so many people's hearts. His death broke many hearts in a way that can't really be fixed. Their happiest life was just beginning. It seems so cruel to have it all taken away in a single moment. As for why some of us, you, and also me, are drawn to tragic love stories is a bit of a mystery to me, too. I don't know, but I think we are just sensitive souls who think too deeply about life, death, and the unfairness that seems too cruel to bear sometimes. I think we are really empathetic towards others suffering, hate it, and wish we could take it away for them. You just have a big heart, my friend. This is what I think.

But... big heart... this it maybe too much, I prefer to thing I have an average heart, and I'm sorry for everyone that have a smaller one. And I will keep fighting against the cancer. It is not an incurable one. I will fight for me and for all the people that would suffer for my death. I cry very, very rarely, but when I told my daughter last year (she was 26) about this, she told me "don't leave me, daddy"... I was really close to cry. And I promise her I will not leave her until I will be really old. I will fight at any cost, and this means to fight despite the sometimes awful collateral effects of the cures. Any cost means for me any cost.

We may be drawn to tragic stories of love because they somehow serve as a painful reminder of who, and what, we need to cherish and focus on while we can. Love can be very strong, even if life is very fragile. The story of G&G reminds us of this hard fact every day.

J'ai été très touchée par ce couple ! Ils ont grandi ensemble physiquement et professionnellement ! Ils sont tombés amoureux et ont fondé une famille, bénie par l'arrivée d'une adorable petite fille !J'adore les regarder patiner, c'est un pur ravissement une synchronicité et une technicité parfaite. J'ai lu le livre de Katia "My Sergei " un vibrant hommage à Sergei parti vraiment trop tôt , leur enfance, la naissance de leur amour et la découverte du monde du patinage ,de la vie en Russie au temps de l'union soviétique ! Il y des passages amusants, tendres , on partage leurs doutes, les chemins qui s'ouvraient à eux quant à leur orientation professionnelle tout semblait parfait et le drame ! I hope to watch Queen of Tears sometime. Although, it was so popular that I already know the ending and that takes away some of the joy of watching. The internet is always giving up spoilers. I doubt I will love it more than Kim Sun-Ah and Lee Dong Wook's chemistry and story.

@@samizita174 , in Scent of a Woman he falls for Yeon-Jae and she has gallbladder cancer. In Bittersweet Life, he falls for an older woman, too, but she doesn't have cancer though. Have you seen some of the behind the scenes video? The scene where he confronts her on knowing she was sick but still approaching him when they were in Okinawa is something to see. They both cried so much if their eyes met. It was so intense the man holding the lighting equipment started crying, too. I'll go try to find the link for that! Sometimes I get sad at the thought that Ji-Wook would be without his Yeon-Jae one day. I have to stop and remember it's just a drama! Lee Dong Wook's character was just so puppy eyed for her, it makes me sad to know he would lose her. I loved them!

Thank you so much! My daughter told me that Lee Yeon named Lee Rang. She said it wasn't mentioned in the drama but in the backstory (she got her hands on the script, too). His mother didn't even give him a name! So that first line just clicked with me. So much of the lyrics seemed to tell their tale. It looks that you miss them together at least as much as me. But you look so young, much more than me (born 1956), how came this love? I quit to look skating after Sergei's death. At first I thought it would last for some months, or an year or two. In reality I never looked skating again. Pain. Thank you anyway to make thise clips. It mean a lot for me.

I saw Sergei and Katia in the 1994 Olympics on TV and fell in love with them, their love story, their skating, and their little daughter, Dasha. I was devastated that he died later that Fall. I watched skating for a few years after his death just trying to see glimpses of Katia and hoped she would be ok. Once she was ok, I haven't kept up too much with skating either. G & G were magical. It'll never happen again. I joined a G & G chat board online and made many friends while learning more about them. That board has been closed down , but I still keep in contact with many of my G&G friends that I made there. Such good people. @@yayyayfan Thank you deeply for your reply. I follewed them (on TV) since they started to partecipate to competitions that were broadcasted on Italian TV. I mean, I didn't watched only them, I followed Katarina Witt (for obvious reasons other than her skill and grace 😁), Maya Usova and Sergei Zhulin (dance), the Duchesnay brothers (dance) mainly. But G&G were something special. I loved them as a pair, then a couple, then lovers, husband and wife, father and mother. And for their incredible skill, off course. I was devastated too when Sergei died. Devastated and very angry with the fate, and worried about her and her daughter. I forgot all the other my favourites. Not them. And I think I will never forget them, and the pure joy they gave me, something I never had the chance to say them thank you.

@@carlosanguineti956 , thank you for watching my videos and commenting! It brings me great joy knowing you got to reminisce for a few minutes on G & G's greatness. They were simply legends in every way. I remember Usova and Zhulin and the controversial breakup. That was sad and something I couldn't see happening ever between Katia and Sergei . Anyway, it's comments like yours that make me realize I should have uploaded my old videos up to KZfaq a lot sooner. I just had no idea people would want to see my low quality work. I'm so surprised! I think people need just a little reminder to fall in love with them all over again and I hope my videos do that. 🥰

@@yayyayfan I subscribed on your channel ane everytime you will upload G&G videos, I will see them and keep with me. Don't think about the quality of the videos, just think how much the people appreciate how you prepare them, put fragments together, and create something that will be enjoyed. You do this with love, and this love is perceived. I feel it. Nobody knows the future or the "what if", but I think G&G love was something that would last for the whole life. Una storia cosi' dolce e pura. Una tragedia atroce. Certo, nel mondo ne succedono altre, magari peggiori e a noi sconosciute. Ma questi due io li ho seguiti da quando e' stato possibile vederli alla TV. Sempre perfetti, lei nervosa dopo la gara e lui che le sorrideva con calore e calma. Poi un po' alla volta, li ho visti piu' vicini nel dopo gara. Poi ancora piu' vicini. Il resto e' storia. E' favola. E poi e' tragedia. Ma finche' il mio cervello funzionera' loro saranno insieme nella mia testa.
