Hey, i was wondering if you know where to get parts for one of these mowers, because I have one as well, and mine is being built into a hauler.
@blakegroceАй бұрын
Last time I checked you could still get some parts through sears parts direct but I haven't looked in a long time.
@jessebybee3521Ай бұрын
@@blakegroce I looked, but many parts are phased out, and so far I've had to swap the engine to a newer 18hp b&s opposed 2, but I want to keep as much as possible original. The thing thats evading me right now is the transaxle parts, and some parts to the steering links. Like I said, any help at all is appreciated, your the only person online I have found who's filmed one.

@blakegroce4 ай бұрын
I'm not sure, it was rebuilt in 92. It's a small cam, not much bigger than stock, I'm guessing a mellings or a summit racing. Typical RV cam.

I love the old Thrush Turbo's myself, but there should be a hand choke on that truck. Maybe not? Probably a faulty heat rising choke on the manifold going up to a two barrel Rochester.
@blakegroce Жыл бұрын
Yes it has a manual choke, it works, I used it in the video during the beginning! 👍
@amoruzz Жыл бұрын
@@blakegroce Okay, maybe I don't understand today's definition of a "cold start"? I grew up in the day's of early Chevrolet's and other engines, tractors, etc. Normally, what we did was to pull the choke closed, turn the motor over until it fired and then gently open the choke just enough to keep it running and as the motor warms up, it clears up and eventually idles down and you keep pushing open the choke ALL the way as it stays running. As many times as your engine died? That's not normal procedure and not a healthy engine start. So, you must've opened the choke very "early" for it to keep dying like that. Is that what you folk's "define" as a "cold start" in these video's? I'm just trying to make sense of what your doing. I still have a 1966 283 and a inline 292 six popper in my 1968 C20. 👍 Thanks

That's a really clean car. Hopefully you have good luck getting the radiator repaired. The cost of recoring has gone through the roof. My son had his done in his 66 LeMans and it was over $400.00. Those old brass radiators are the best.

Do u know how I'd go about pulley swapping/ making one of these faster?
@blakegroce2 жыл бұрын
I'm running a 3.5 inch engine pulley and a 4 inch transaxle pulley, this does about 9 mph. If you want to go faster you can put a bigger pulley on the engine and a smaller pulley on the transaxle, this will make it go faster. But doing this will make your tractor not have a lot of low end torque but it's all about what your building it for and what you feel comfortable with! Hope this is helpful!
