We just got back home two weeks ago from Valencia. Everything was fantastic. We enjoyed all the restaurants, bars and places where we ate. There were three standouts for us. Bar Ricardo - As much as the seafood tapas were excellent, our favorites turned out to be Ensalada Rusa - so good we ordered twice and their Patatas Bravas. We thoroughly enjoyed a tasting menu dinner at La Salita de Begona Rodrigo, the food presentation and explanation were a theatrical performance and thirdly, Paella Valenciana at the award winning Restaurante Bon Aire in the Albufera. We can't wait to go back and include your recommendations. We rented an Airbnb in the Ruzafa district, such an awesome and happening neighborhood for us.

I think taxation should also be discussed. Maybe another interview? DOUBLE TAXATIOn is something we must be so careful about. Taxes in Soain can be so high. This is my concern and holds me from applying Spain citizenship. I can also apply dual citizenship with the Philippines first then apply for Spanish residency or citizenship but taxation or the possibility of double taxation scares me because the US Spain tax treaty can be complicated and is subject to discretionary interpretation in Spain.

hello😉 I'm a filipino from the Philippines 🇵🇭. we are a colony of Spain from 1521 to 1898. can I shortcut my spanish citizenship waiting period of residing in spain for 2 years, but instead of that I'll buy/invest in real estate €500,00 without staying there continuously for 2 years?
@EverythingIsBoffoКүн бұрын
You have to be continuously living in Spain for 2 years. That’s why it’s called citizenship by RESIDENCY. You need to reside in Spain and not be out more than 3 months.
@Simo-nc9vuКүн бұрын
Thank you very very much a lot of gold informations. Attorney Douaa said tha if you have a canadien dual citizenship you can benefit of the 2 years residency instead of 10 years residency to be éligible to apply for Spanish citizenship?
@EverythingIsBoffoКүн бұрын
Let me clarify, if you hold a dual nationality and one of them is IBEROAMERICANOS (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Brasil, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, Uruguay, Venezuela), Andorra, Filipinas, Guinea Ecuatorial y Portugal then you can get citizenship after two year. The Canadian is just an example of the other nationality that someone can hold, like Canadian-Peruvian, but being Canadian doesn’t qualify you for the 2 year waiting period.

can U.S. citizens, or U.S. couples or family applications, who apply, wait, and pass a basic spanish residency application, are they allowed to work in Spain under a spanish employer?
@EverythingIsBoffo2 күн бұрын
The visa or residency you have will dictate if you can work in Spain or not. You need to either have a permanent residency or a work visa.

Very well informed, thank you for sharing guys (and congrats to Paul for the positive results)! 🙂 Out of curiosity, when does the residency count for citizenship? Is it by the time when one lands or when one gets the TIE?
@EverythingIsBoffo2 күн бұрын
It’s actually the same thing. The day you arrive is the date that will be on your TIE, and that’s when you start counting. ☺️

Great video!!! I have a question, though. I'm a stay at home mother of 2, and I will be residing in Spain once I get my non- lucrative visa approved, however my husband will stay in the USA and work, and he will not come to Spain with us, however he will be our financial provider. Can I still apply for a Non-lucrative visa for myself and kids?
@EverythingIsBoffo2 күн бұрын
Yes I believe so. My friend is in that situation. The savings should be in your name though I think. He may need to provide a letter saying you can take the kids abroad. Please reach out to Marina, she can give you more definite answers. We are not the experts but she is! Bureaucracy.es/everythingisboffo

In San Diego a Big Mac meal cost is $18.95. Has been like this since December 2023.
@EverythingIsBoffo3 күн бұрын
Yikes! That’s a lot of we still have menu del Dia here for around 11€. That’s a full meal in a nice restaurant.
@peteralmazan70342 күн бұрын
You guys may want to update your cost comparison to San Diego. It has become untenable to live here now. Lucky for the wife and I we’re both retired and have no home mortgage to pay since we paid off our house right before we retired. We bought a Tesla using my retirement bonus and don’t have to buy gas. We were recently in Porto for three weeks and their food cost both in the groceries and restaurants are slightly lower, but it’s not Valencia. We will be in Valencia for 2 weeks on January 2025. You make great videos by the way!
