Very cool my family has a camp in the big cypress and just like killing the buffalo so we couldn’t live off the land we have the legal exotic animal trade destroying any chance of that in the glades, pythons have destroyed any possibility of that here.

There's no book bans. Just certain propaganda not allowed in public schools paid for with all peoples tax money. Anyone can buy whatever books they want and teach what they want to their kids.

Stop spreading that BS. MANY black seminoles have the name cudjoe which is a erst African name. Also the black seminoles language was Afro Seminole Creole which is the same as Gullah Geechee which I am a member of. Gullah Geechee is a African creole language!

@@yellageechee1882 if you knew anything about African which is alkabula you would know about it’s maps go look it up yourself these so called slave areas that these so called slaves supposedly came from didn’t even exist in the 1800 so how did they come from Africa?? Go look up the 1453 maps of African til 2005 you’ll see how Africa has recently developed which these places where they claim Africans came from all of bunch of non sense I don’t have to spread bs I’ve done my own genealogy to 1500’ on both side they they are Indians the so called blacks I go back to where my ancestors came from Ireland France and Germany none had nothing to do with slave ships non of that. So as for me spreading bs I think not. It was the opposite way around they sent people from the Americas both North America turtle island and South America to Africa. Only a fool would speak on something they don’t know. I have all my family Dawes roll numbers and all. So called black people been here from Olmecs to Mayans and so forth different Tribes different people simulator complexions

So called Black people are the original native's of the Americas. The gullah wars are the wars never mentioned. So called Black people of the Americas and African people are two different people, I wish this lie would stop.

@ 7:14. The line of march that shows Jackson's expedition to Pensacola crossing into Alabama, then back into Florida. The ferry crossing on the Yellow River that they took was about 5 miles south of the border, and the trail would be close to Highway 2 in Okaloosa County. The ferry was at the meeting point of some trading trails.

This is really cool! As someone who lived in Florida for more than 45 years , my family took our breaks camping in all of the state parks! We love the history , sometimes it’s so sad! I remember seeing this shell midden that was so old it had a humongous tree growing on top of it that that said was about 500 years old , I have always thought about all the people everywhere who walked the earth before me and that my feet were where their feet walked! Or that my hands touch the same ground and see the same stars ,I always imagine what they would think of if they seen the power cars, pumps, pavement, homes, TVs, airplanes, who could have even imagined, we could talk to each other or see a loved ones face from a thousand miles away! Knowing that they were there comforts me ! I hate to see the developers that tear out all of those historic trees and cover the middens! It’s just wrong! It shouldn’t be allowed! When I was a girl the beaches were different! Coastal areas were different! I love the way you share the history! Thank you!

As First Nations myself, you’re one of the few that has discussed the issue of Florida’s indigenous culture coupled with slaves. In our oral tradition, Florida was like Atlanta in regards to migration to and from the islands. Thank you for sharing. Awesome video.
