I sprayed the back of the canvas with distilled water to tighten it, but that's it.

So to get the cells I don't need to use silicone oil?
@FluidExpressions22 күн бұрын
Nope!
@debbiem6860Ай бұрын
Beautiful 🎉 may I ask what your CA recipe is ?
@FluidExpressionsАй бұрын
Sure. It's Australian Floetrol & Amsterdam Titanium White acrylic paint. (or Amsterdam Oxide Black for my black cell activator.) 2 parts Aussie Floetrol to 1 part paint. (I used to do a 3:1 ratio, but I feel like the cells hold together better with the 2:1 ratio because its a little thicker)

Of course! I reply to about 99% of the comments people leave. It's the considerate thing to do, in my opinion. And good luck with your geode piece! I'm sure you'll love it by the time you're done and will feel so proud of yourself!

Over kill .... excessive amnt of paint. UNLESS you reuse
@FluidExpressionsАй бұрын
Actually, this amount of paint is necessary for this particular technique. It's not overkill nor wasteful, because all of the run-off paint AND all of the paint on the tile itself will be peeled off once fully cured and used to make jewelry. Which I sell.

I have to do an emerald green piece, but after looking at how beautiful this is, I don't know if I can do it.
@MyFluidArtJourney2 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness, the finished piece is beautiful. You are being too hard on yourself. But, I feel your pain. I am always messing up my art pieces. My latest one I went too far as well, but, in the end I stood back and looked at it, and, thought, it is ok, it is different, it is certainly abstract art, I will do better next time. 🙂I still consider myself a new artist, have so much to learn. Oh, new subscriber for you too 😀

Thank you so much for subscribing! It's not easy to silence all of the negative thoughts that go through our head, but I hope it's reassuring to know that you're definitely not alone!

I feel you and totally understand. Just seeing the art without seeing the progression - I am thinking "that looks cool" plus always just wait and you can add more in later as well. One thing I heard a long time ago was to make the same painting 20 times and then in the middle you will try new things and do things you might not have because you were scared to "ruin it" I always remembered that and think it is great advice.
