Of course they come out with these after my Debut 2.0's blew and I sprung for the Carinas. 🫤

They sounded better than the SVS room and the RSL room. They also look decor friendly for the wife.

I believe they are a little older than that. Made from 1963-1969. Fantastic years for music.

That's extra stupid as you play the 2 speakers at the same time and think the phone will miraculously only record the one you point to...

Try it on a pair of Apogee's and watch it go up in smoke!!!

Some beautiful center channels, I think the center is the most under rated speaker in a system.

500M actually. M for meters. The 500N has no meters. Great vintage amps. I have an N and an M (with case). You should keep it!

Change the power supply electrolytic caps, up their microfarad count p/haps but if it has its original power supply cap's ....that"s where your buzzing or hum comes from. 50 year old Electrolytic caps are no good anymore for silent background noise. Check for bulging on all polarized & non-polarised Electrolytic. I'd change all the Capacitors anyway ...it sounded great to me, Warner, Mozart & the Swan-lake piece? ...or another Tchaikovsky piece, I'm used to KZfaq amp demo's via my surround sound receiver & this ESS sounded comparatively great irregardless of age, type & circuit topology.

ESS makes speakers and headphones, with speakers since the mid 70's and headphones more recently. Didn't realize they are also producing DAC chips

I can get a fully functioning 500N for $300. Should I snag it?

@@Inokea If it's functioning and in decent cosmetic and electrical condition, I'd say go for it. Maybe try negotiating for an even lower price since it hasn't the meters, can't hurt to try!

That looks awesome. I can't believe it's that old it looks so good and relevant. Amps these days rarely have enough power.

I have not posted it for sale yet. I may make another video about it before I do, either way I will post a comment here when the listing goes live.

This amp looks amazing, my dad had one when I was a kid. Would love to get my hands on it. Let us know when the Audiogon listing goes live!
