Oddly, now that you mention it, Dr. Mundo actually IS in Arcane. He is still in pre-Mundo form. He is one of Silco's Blonde goons who keeps licking things (Knives, Heads, Fingers, etc...) Sevika finally gives him a look of disturbed disgust in EP9. This is a prelude to him being committed to an experimental hospital masquerading as an asylum (per his lore), where one of the experiments results in his Dr. Mundo form.

I'm loving these breakdowns and have them on in the background of my office when I'm working. For the Vi not knowing about Jinx thing, I think I also chalked that up to people just not being that specific about something psychotically and criminally violent happening to them, coupled with possibly a bit of shame in getting threatened or curbstomped by a 90 lb teenaged girl. Other factors were that Powder didn't magically become excellent with her builds right after episode 3, so she would have had potentially years with Silco being groomed to her status as his daughter/enforcer, but not been a scary fixture in the undercity yet. It might also cause confusion that Silco's top two lieutenants (as well as a seemingly powerful member of his inner circle whose son was killed by Jayce) are female. So if you aren't trading names, and you cross Silco, and then get the snot beaten or shot out of you by Silco's second, it could cause some confusion as to whether "she" means Sevika or Jinx. Even if you qualify them both as psychotically violent, while *we* know that Sevika isn't psychotic, someone she's beating into a coma with a shimmer enhanced prosthetic arm for crossing Silco may not get the distinction. Honestly, for believability, I found it worse that she didn't appear to know that Sevika had a robo shimmer arm when she kneed her in the face, and I would think "robot shimmer arm" would be more of a talking point than "blue hair". I think if I were in prison and even being perfectly honest about some absolute psycho waif with a hand built tommy gun popping off, hair color and name wouldn't really top what I'd be talking about. More the psychosis, inappropriate laughter, maybe even her tats. Plus, I'm not sure how well known it is, but Silco is showed using countless children both as workers, fighters, and hostages, so "psycho teenager who works for Silco" likely doesn't remotely narrow it down, since prior to Vander giving him emergency skull surgery, Deckard was also a psychotically (post shimmer) violent teenager who works for Silco.

I listened to this yesterday at work while climbing trees to cut dead branches out and I just needed to come back and thank you for the extremely entertaining video. I probably looked insane sitting up in the trees by myself with a huge saw, dripping sweat and laughing out loud to your perfect delivery.

In the movies defence I thought of them sending Bilbo to get the ponies in D&D logic. Dwarves and halflings (hobbits) are the same size technicaly but halflings can sneak around people and dwarves can’t because they are more stocky and less strategic 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's absolutely ridiculous with where the suggested technology is at in this film that the soldiers would be reporting to the homeworld or main base like it's fucking WW2. At this level of sci-fi where they can essentially resurrect dead people should have tech monitoring those soldiers vitals, and tech where all the soldiers could communicate with that base or any base from their own personal position.

Question: if the big evil empire has robots which do have no qualms about killing, why would said evil empire even use human soldiers? Wouldn't programmable murder-drones not be preferable? I don't think this setting is all that well thought out. Also, how can an AI powered machine go against orders and effectively make it's own decisions?!? Do you want the men of iron? Because that's how you get the men of iron.

On the topic of the unreliable narrator, isn't Bilbo telling this exact story to some kids at the start of the lotr? (Might be in the extended cut) During his party he is caught talking about the tolls being turned to stone, so if they periodically came back to that scene with a steadily growing number of children listening the unreliable narrator would have been perfect. It could even be him exaggerating more and more as the story continues to entertain the kids.

Isn't it a fatal writing flaw to say "in conclusion?" And then proceed to make your conclusion. Rebel moon isn't the worst movie made. It's bad for sure but th worst? No way there is much more terrible films that you can't even watch at all. It had too many ideas too much money and Zack is just a bad writer.

1:34:16 You keep saying that Gandalf's action don't make sense in the movie because he doesn't know that Sauron survived, but it very clearly that he always thought that Sauron never died in the first place. Gandalf's continued suspicion that the enemy is alive and is massing in the East DOES perfectly explain all his actions, even if they are based on suspicions and feelings and not evidence. Just putting this here because it keeps getting run over like its a clear plot error and it absolutely is not. Furthermore, it is almost certainly the case that Saruman repeatedly rejects the argument that Sauron has returned because he is unwilling or fearful that Sauron could have survived. This is actually reinforced as the intent because he continues to ask for proof after it literally put right in his face. In fact, in the later film after they encounter and banish Sauron, it is clear that Saruman is very afraid and at that point in time takes the charge in finding him as a nod to his intent to turn sides. That scene does at least reinforce looking backward that Saruman's actions are out of fear and demonstrate as such and not just to deliver exposition. The purpose of the scene may does build upon the premise of this film, but it DOES set up events or character changes in later films or scenes.

The "Good evening" thing with Balin is a callback to the "Good morning" interaction with Gandalf. When Gandalf questions as to what Bilbo means by "Good morning", one of the ways is implying the morning is good. So Balin is taking the "Good evening" as Bilbo saying the evening is a good one.

I feel like Silco could also aquire guns via smuggling the guns like the shimmer just in reverse. Also with Himerdinger and the hexcore, i feel like the thing he may have seen before might have been the rapid growing of the plants with magic, like a mage previously used magic on a "single seed" that rapidly grew and destroyed a nation, not necessarily the hexcore but its effect.

I think you may have swapped Mel and Victor's motivations. I see Victor as being motivated to help other kids like himself primarily, and only became focused on himself when he started to realize he was dying. Mel, I see as being motivated to prove to herself and her family that a soft power approach to gaining status and wealth can be just as if not more effective than the more brutal and direct strategy that her mother prefers. She wants to prove that the method that she excels at is viable to prove to her mom that she is not worthless. This is shown when she counters that she is still the poorest Medarda when reminded of her wealth by Piltover standards. Her current success would not impress her mother, so she needs more. She is motivated to raise her own status primarily and is perfectly willing to use underhanded tactics, but in a non-violent way that elevates those around her. This does stem from her inherent compassion and desire to be merciful, as she simply can't bear the ruthless actions that violent power grabs necessitate. This desire, however, still manifests as a bid to gain personal wealth and status, if only as a means to show her family that there's a better way, a way that involves creating value rather than violently stealing it. I see her as a nonviolent capitalist born from a line of brutal warlords.

“He was my friend” is actually a far deeper line than most people give it credit for, because it feels like Bilbo is intentionally oversimplifying his relationship with Thorin while talking to someone who he barely knows and who he doesn’t want to talk to at all. There’s no reason why Bilbo couldn’t have just said “he was my friend” as a complete sentence to Balin, a guy who knows both Thorin and Bilbo very well. Bilbo only uses the term “friend” when describing Thorin to a stranger, whereas he can’t find the correct word when describing Thorin to someone with whom he is actually close. And Balin indicates with a very knowing look that Bilbo doesn’t need to finish that sentence in front of him. All of which indicates that Balin was well aware that something else was going on between Bilbo and Thorin, something which this film also heavily hints at when abruptly cutting directly from Bilbo weeping over Thorin’s body to Tauriel weeping over her lover’s body. I’m not saying everyone has to or should view their relationship this way, but nobody can deny that evidence supporting this interpretation is very much present in the film.

I like the idea of a galactic empire being technologically backwards. Like, they spend way too much energy being militarily superior that everything else falls to the wayside, like there's no progress in agricultural or engine and travel efficiency and so on. So they can't grow their own grain or identify their own drop ships. So small innovative factions start sprouting up and out maneuvering them. The empire still has the numbers and the mass war machine but that's all they have. That's not what Zack Snyder did. that's my head canon for stuff like this and star wars or whatever.
