Ouch... I faced Venom Goblin only twice at standard, once with Spiderman Miles Morales and his precon, second time with SP//dr and Spiderham. Not easy but won... Starting thinking that had luck both times... Thanks for the video!

I heard substituting his broken “goblin glider” modular with “Goblin Tricks” from the Green Goblin villain set, balances him out, makes it less swingy but still retains the challenge. Also Gang Up is the reason why I want to pick up AoA for “Standard 3” I absolutely hate that card, and it’s pure imbalance makes me want to just rip it up My brother was so done with Venom Goblin, he whipped out Dr. Strange and just obliterated him. It’s still annoying needing to do that though.

A quick loss! I really struggled against Venom Goblin in all of my test games :( Also, I should have been putting threat on every Main at the start of each villain phase, not just the one with the glider, but I forgot.

When the villain attacks, and when the villain initiates an attack are the exact same timing. But since Ultron’s ability is a forced response, it takes priority over grasping tendrils. So you did it properly having Ultron put out a drone and then canceling his attack.

Nice playthrough! But just a little FYI there, Venom’s thwart, attack and defense cards give you a bonus only if you paid them completely with the specified ressource type, so no stun if you pay only with one strength resource etc

Nice to see Venom with shield! My justice deck is quite similar, but never thought of that! However, you did misplay the attack event "savage attack". If you want the overkill you need 2 lightning resource, as I told you in previous video. ie: You could use one from your hand and the other from his ability. This said, it would not have change the outcome of this peculiar run. I rarely play Ultron, I find him oppressive, and somewhat easy to counterplay. Maybe I should play him more to revise my judgement. Very nice game!

This was so fun to watch! I need to go back to that deck and tweak it since my collection has grown since I made it. I was so excited when you pulled shadows! I got real good with venom cause there was two months where all I had was venom and Kang to play against.

My minor gripe. Your sidebar has the hero at the top and villain at the bottom, but the play area obviously has villain at the top and hero at the bottom.... ever thought of changing the sidebar?

Alright, another good one! I love Gamora, and I won't develop here, she's just steady and has some big turns too! Now Groot, I like perfect defense for him with victor mancha to stop quickstrike/stun combo. But I only play Groot in 2 players game. Solo, I never played him, so I can't speak for that mode. Now Venom, you definitly have to dive into him. He can do lots of stuff in all aspect. He is guardian so you can play Gamora ally whatever the aspect you chose, and you can give her side arm since venom has tutor for weapon in his kit. You can go aggression with energy spear on Gamora ally and Bug ally, or you can even go protection but it is the least effective. Justice is solid for him no doubt, but the guy is very resilient and has good economy: lots of options with him. PS: I think they switch lighting and fist on venom defense/attack card on purpose. They did not want the player to spam them easily. The overkill, you don't really care most of the time, but the defense card is extremely strong, so the designers want you to get the second fist resource on your own, not with nerves of steel. That would be cheap, and the guy is already very cheap.

10:08 the ruling for retaliate I am wondering....as I've heard if you defeat the villain and they still have the keyword (retaliate) then they carry that into the next stage...was Alex's (from FFG) confirmation on Hall of Heroes?...I just want to make sure I'm playing it right too!:)

Nice video - Agree with most of your picks I think I like Root Stomp for Groot as it actually gets you a growth counter while squishing the villain and I think Decisive blow or the Nebula ally are my favourite for Gamora

I like your list a lot. With my own limited card pool, i have unexpectedly really loved playing Vision more than any other heroes i own. Im not a huge fan of the character but i just really like how he plays. He has a nice slew of thwarts and attack events, some more specialized like removing attachments, a really strong ally, and his forms both feel pretty effective. I will say, i always thought his "cannot defend" in intangible form meant cannot exhaust to defend, so i had been playing protection defend events with him since they were in his precon. However, you can still make protection work with cards like Subdue which dont have the defense keyword. Also, i like his form changing better than the others i have tried simply because you get to choose when to switch. I like Spectrum as well, but her events dictate what form you are in; Vision is the other way around. Anyways, he is fun, strong in all aspects, and great in multiplayer

On one side I want scenarios with special situations like Mysterio, on the other side I prefer linear villains... What a paradox... Awesome battle, thanks for the video!
