Really good tv series of the 90s. Great narrator was Hal Holbrooke.. No mention of the Amercian Chestnut blight that wiped out 1/3 of the trees and the food source for wild Passenger Pigeons, Deer, Pigs and pioneers alike. One reason why Appalachian areas are poverty-stricken.

. .Guys Ur Not Wrong--There Is ABSOLUTLY A "PLACE CALLED HEAVEN," AND THE REASON I CAN TELL U THIS FOR A FACT, IS BECAUSE IVE BEEN THERE.. WHEN I WAS 16, My Younger Brother & I Were In A Very Serious Car Accident, In Fact I Died In The Accident And Went To See God, And Went THROUGH THE TUNNEL GOING TO THE LIGHT, & Past The Angels AND THEN ,ACROSS THE HORIZON THERE WAS A LIGHT SO BRIGHT AND ENGULFING AS ID NEVER SEEN B4 AND A SECOND LATER I WAS "MIND TALKING" WITH GOD AND THEN JESUS WAS THERE AND REACHED HIS ARMS OUT TO GREET ME , AND THE WAY I KNEW IT WAS JESUS WAS BECAUSE I COULD SEE THE WOUNDS IN HIS WRISTS, AND THEN AS IN SHAME, I LOOKED DOWN AND AWAY AND THATS WHEN I SAW THE HOLES IN HIS FEET, , AND I REMEMBER CRYING FOR HIS SUFFERING AND HE REACHED OUT AND HELD ME AND SAID, "IT HAD TO BE"..AND IN HEAVEN THERE ARE NO SECRETS BECAUSE EVERY ONE COMMUNICATES THROUGH MIND THOUGHTS, SO JESUS KNEW HOW I FELT THE INSTANT I FELT THE SARROW, OF HIS TORTURE ON CALVERY.. AND GOD LOOKED AT ME AND IN MY MIND I THOUGHT "BUT GOD IM ONLY 16".. AND AT THAT INSTANT HE PUT ME BACK IN THAT WRECKED CAR, AND I HAD NOT Bleed A DROP OF BLOOD EVEN THOUGH WHEN I HIT THE WINDSHIELD I WAS ALMOST SCALPED , I DIDNT START BLEEDING TILL GOD PUT ME BACK IN THAT CAR AND GAVE ME LIFE AGAIN, MY HEART WASNT PUMPING THATS WHY I WASNT BLEEDING WHILE I WAS DEAD JUST LAYIN THERE IN THE FRONT SEAT OF THAT WRECK!! AND THEN IT TOOK 180+ - STITCHES JUST IN MY HEAD ANDACE - MOSTLY IN MY FACE, THE SURGON HAD TO SEW MY NOSE BACK ON Z MY CHIN & EYEBROWS BACK ON, JUST ALL SORTS OF SEWIN IT TOOK WHEN I FINALLY GOT TO THE HOSPITAL THERE IN NAPLES FLA SOME 50 YRS AGO NOW, BUT I REMEMBER EVERY LITTLE THING JUST LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY, AND I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!👍😇 THANK U JESUS, THANK U GOD, BLESSED IS HE WHO Believes IN THE LAMB, AND IS SAVED BY THE BLOOD, AMEN. . YES, FOLKS, THERE IS A HEAVEN AND I CAN TELL U THAT BECAUSE IVE BEEN THERE, AND HOPING SOON IM GOIN BACK!😇 ..BUT I HEARD THE SONG FOR THE FIRST TIME AND I THOUGHT I MIGHT REASSURE U,THAT THERE REALLY IS A HEAVEN.. & IN MY FATHERS HOUSE, THERE ARE MANY MANSIONS!!😳👍😎

Amazing how professional Ricky is. Noticed he sound checked the monitors before he started so that everyone could hear instead of throwing a temper tantrum during the song.

Exactly Ricky is an awesome guy to work with I done F-O-H Sound for one of the festivals and I would definitely do it again the Monitor guy needs to make sure his monitor is up good thing Ricky could tell that his monitor was not turned up enough a true professional musician.

My father listened to Jazz, Country Music, and German folk music when I was growing up. Roy Acuff performing Wabash Cannonball was probably my favorite country song. Its almost like a Gospel song.. Chuck Berry borrowed the music and wrote new lyrics for his hit Promised Land, which is also a great American song. Even at age 62, this song still makes me tear up for some reason. I heard many wonderful versions by various artists in my time, but the timelessness the song has with Acuff's voice makes it the definitive version. Thanks for posting this live version recorded in England.
