I highly recommend looking at interviews of Will Wright, creator of The Sims. The way he speak and obsessed with things and his body language, everything make me feel like he is also somewhat on the spectrum, he has so many weird obsessions, like collecting Soviet spacecraft parts, building weird robots. I feel that The Sims as a concept could never be made without Wright's quirky way of thinking, he must be on the spectrum or understand people on spectrum, couldn't be other thing.

Ok, can someone help me out here. There is something weird going on. I was building a pool connected directly to a basement below using the 2nd method in this video. First off, there is a step that was not properly explained in this video. After you built the basement and pool 1 square next to each other. - Use the basement tool. - Press ctrl and drag it the length that you want. DO NOT RELEASE THE LEFT MOUSE. - RELEASE THE CTRL BUTTON FIRST. - The release the left mouse button. But here is the problem I have. It doesn't give me the same standard wall thickness as in this video. When I do it. I am left with the swimming pool walls on the part of the basement. So it looks weird when connected to a standard thickness walls. I can't seem to figure out why I am getting left with pool walls instead of basement walls on the connected parts. Can someone help me out? If there are still people who play the Sims 3.

I dont know why they referenced the book "Lolita", it's a so incredibly sore subject. Why I think they were referencing the book? She's got the traits "bookworm" and "childish", she even has romance with someone. The way she dresses, super childish. Even the dress, it's a reference to what Lolita wore. I think they were too scared to make her a child/teen, hence why She's a young adult. I think it's so disgusting to add this in the game. Just adds another gloss of why EA is so horrible.

Detailing locations that are not lots like that is wasting time. Sims will not use the lot and players will gravitate to actual lots though if there is a collectible in the random world they will go to it and collect. Base painting the terrain.. maybe fencing... and then place a lot, make it a small park with the default no name... perfect.

World building... this should be the very last step... well details should be. Lots come with the roads and need to be tested in the game to see if sims will enter and exit the lot as well as how it looks when they are driving on the roads. So first thing is build up neighborhoods with lots and roads and test them in the game, best to do this with individual neighborhoods starting with downtown. Once you have the downtown lots and roads done export the world and start a new game using it. Place a sim on any of the lots including City Hall, with 1 motherlode and buydebug enabled buy them the Extravagator 5000 and send them to lots across the neighborhood so they use the car. The car is reasonably fast so will show if your roads corners are too tight. As for the lots you know they are well placed if the sim does not say it's route is blocked and then cancel the order. 5 of these in one medium sized world then you will understand why testing it is time consuming but far better than planting sims in a house after spending an hour creating the family and then another 2 the house just to find they refuse to leave the lot. Roads and lots first, build up the terrain between second. Have a 100% working undecorated map of roads and lots. Then start painting the terrain. Do each step of the terrain painting across the whole map, Base paint in one pass, second pass another base paint but 1/4 the brush strength and make this kinda splotchy to breakup the base texture. Then repeat for localized details like cliffs or coasts. Now you have a "2 tome" base texture and localized detail. Now you add the fine detail in texture. After the painting is done... add trees... lotsa trees. Click, spin, drop. Do the same tree all over the map. Tree A is planted across the whole world before planting Tree B. Trees are done then do rocks if the world will have them. After rocks do bushes and flowers. Then repeat in key areas for localized special detail such as around a fishing spot. And always skip around the world during each step. The reason you want to do each step across the whole world is you want the world to be unified. The best way to make it unified is to do it all at the same time.

All these years and you remain the BEST sims builder, designer, director, story teller and narrator! If you ever read this, I'm forever subscribed and my notification bell remains on...in the hope you one day return. ♥ 🏡
