You need compound steam oil, ordinary oil will result in damage to your engine , ebay is your friend.

Thank you very much, I must say being such a readily available product it makes sense as to why people use it. Is there a specific type you use as I’ve seen on forums people talking about factors like tobacco free oils etc to be less harmful to breathe in. More curious than anything else. I will get some oil off eBay made for the models myself. Cheers, Matthew

@@nickwhite6066No steam locos going for scrap these days in the UK, unless they’re being used as spares I guess which doesn’t really count. Kind of ironic given Lady of Legend is made from a butchered Hall class.. If you’re curious about where a loco going just google the number and look in the news (recommend RailAdvent) and it’ll generally pop up. Moves by rail require a mainline connection (obviously) and the locomotive to be mainline certified. Even if its not in steam it still requires a certificate to run on the mainline. And good luck with the first bridge you come to if you put them on a railway flatbed…

Lovely review and overhaul of this loco. I have the same unit but, she is a slow mover. This will eventually get a good cleaning. I too am curious to know what liquid is used to fill the smoke unit.

Hi there, thank you for watching the video, I am glad you enjoyed it. You should get proper fluid made for the triang engines which you’ll find on eBay, just search something like “triang smoke fluid” and plenty of options should come up. Hope that helps, Matt

If this was once a model of MR 1000 as you suspect, then whoever converted it has also extended the frames at the front, as well as changing it from right to left hand drive. 1120 was built 1925 by the LMS at Horwich. Withdrawn June 1959. Don't have the shed allocation for that year, but in 1955 she was at Chester, 6A .Interesting that she received the 2nd version of the lion and wheel crest on the tender. Thanks for another interesting presentation.

It is surprising how loose it is being able to slide. A magnet system would be one way of holding it into place securely although that would increase cost. Having 2 of the containers would be good. Thanks for watching Matthew
