6:00 This Evo was fast AF and and seemed to be developed. We pitted next to them, a couple of fantastic people who pulled this car out of an enclosed trailer, who I hope to see at another event. However, their day was cut short due to a problem with the whole exhaust loosening, including the connection to the turbo outlet. I don't know why this happened, but I'm so glad that my track car, for whatever reason, has been through 18ish track days without incident. I wish there was a way for them to know what I know and execute because that car should have been one of the fastest cars there. That car is a fucking monster.

4:20 Super cool to be on track with a JDM RHD Toyota MR-S. You can see how well that car turns, no wonder it's known to be fast and hard to drive.

I brought my Corrado to an autocross years ago and was stuck into a weird class because of the super charger. Did ok because my competition was a Taurus SHO and they loved the car. As far as me though, I found my biggest problem was finding the course in that sea of cones. Out of five runs i could only manage to stay on course twice. Those runs being significantly slower than they should have been trying to get a full run in just to keep in the competition. It seems i need a real track. Im fast with real roads, i just cant seem to focus on a course of cones to keep track of where i am. Even watching your run reminded me of this. I just see orange everywhere and lose the corse. You have it down.

Autocrossing is hard and a crazy fast adrenaline dump compared to track day hot lapping. I definitely prefer the HPDE/DE track days I normally do, but this is also fun as hell in a different way. Most importantly, keep that Corrado going so you can keep getting pleasure out of it.

I just want to say, a guy named Zachary Maki wrecked this car 9/22/18. This great car was legally destroyed by a man who failed to observe traffic. It took 10 months of bickering with Zachary Maki's shit Esurance people to get paid half ($11k) of the car's value. In 2024, this is painful to watch. I'd rather still have the car....

Lars Pennartz, I don't remember your name properly, but this is your engine in this video. Reply with something if you ever find this. Whoever you sold this car to got a solid engine that probably went to the scrapyard. When I got done with this job, the car ripped hard AF, but that was a different time...

Hello, can someone help me please? I have a 2006 Lancer Ralliart and the transmission sounds a lot. I went to many junk cars and I only got a 4th generation eclipse with the same 4g69 engine. Will the transmission work for my Lancer Ralliart? I checked the code and the one on the eclipse starts with KF5M422V5P and the one on my lancer starts with F5M422R795. Will it work for you?

I think you forgot the middle bolt on the retaining clip? Ffwd to 11:25 Any tips on how to get the snap ring snapped back into place? The one under the plug that the book says to stab with a common screw driver. I'm stuck asf.
@Fopeano
@Fopeano 8 ай бұрын
11:25 flipped over because of groove worn in the side that's supposed to face the bearing. When the case is back together, stick a pry bar into the square hole with the 6 bolt cover and pry that shaft up towards that cap you punctured. It will lift the bearing with the groove so that ring catches it.

This was an incredible watch it perfectly explains why after two weeks I cannot get the hub off. It also clearly shows why I’ve distorted my hub so much it’s basically undriveable so I can’t get it to the shop ho hum what to do, and no one wants to do it. I now see what needs to be done maybe it’s a scrapper.

This looks like a 2.4l 2azfe engine thats the same as in a bunch of other 4 banger toyotas. I have one in my 07 camry with a bearing going out and you can only reach 1 connecting rod without removing the crank case. I'm thinking it's almost identical to this video here, so im going to tear into it. I had tons of flakes from bearing material in the oil pan with a nasty knock after I did the head gasket. Too bad its a manual transmission so I wont have any wiggle room for the crank bearings. Thanks for showing this video it's the only one I've found i wasn't sure it could even be done without pulling the engine and trans.
@sabertachet
@sabertachet Жыл бұрын
Post job update: the biggest hang up was getting the crankcase (upper oil pan) out. The bolts were easy to reach but I recommend removing a section of exhaust because the crankcase itself is very hard to maneuver into place. Overall, lots of gasket material has to be cleaned off, the engine must be retimed, and since it's a manual transmission, the top bearings had to be spun out with a screw in the crankshaft oil port. If I was a shop I would charge probably 2 grand for it because it's tons of tedious labour. Definitely better than pulling the engine with the manual trans though. If you have any questions respond here I might read it.

That clip starting at 14:26 Does anyone have more of that or know where the footage came from? All things considered, the driving is pretty aggressive. I'd guess it might be the guy driving in the Option video of the Yellow Bird being drifted around the Nürburgring by a guy driving one of the fastest cars of the time at it's limit while in street clothes. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hbl9dsmBprmtnYU.html

15x6.5 Rota Slipstream knockoffs called Flik Blasts, bought in 2005. 4x100 ET35 73.1mm hub bore. I had one of them damaged and I'm having a hell of a time finding a match whether it's a Rota or a Drag Racing model. The small ones look like mine and the 17"+ have a different shape, and the listings sometimes show the 17" shape for the 15" wheel... It just keeps getting more complicated, but I digress. Order 15" Slipstreams today, and these are almost exactly what you're getting.

Hello! I have a 2007 Eclipse GT 6 speed manual. When the car idles there is this ticking sound coming from the engine bay and can be heard on the inside as well. When i step on the clutch the noise goes away. Also in gear and rolling when put in neutral the noise is faster and slows dwn after a bit. It can also be heard while in gear i think. Any idea on what this could be?

I didn't think I needed to show the rest of the job, so you didn't see me put GREASE on the mating surfaces. Keep your garbage anti-seize to the side except for exhaust parts. Every time I take an anti-seize brake job apart I get pissed at the disgusting mess, especially all the times something is seized anyway because those products are mediocre at protecting metal from moisture. Tub of grease + acid brush = the right way.
