hi, my bike is a cbf 1000, same set up with the servo, have i got this correct in thinking, the motor is a pull to pull cable system, so if the motor that's not working correctly the servo sticks in the exhaust, so if that's the case and i just disconnect the cables, the engine fault will still flag up unless you bypass it, also can i leave the same can on my bike if i disconnect this thing.

Iirc, personal best on unprepped surface and rollout (no clutch dump) was mid-high 12s. Proper launch and surface would probably see ~12.3. That's with weight reduction too though. Pulled a few hundred pounds out overall.

Hey man, chiming in here from Connecticut with a 2003 Subaru Outback with 290k miles on it LOL. Lost the last remote maybe 4 years ago got a replacement a few years ago but could never get the instructions to work. Decided to give it a try again today after watching your video, and while it took me a few tries, I got it done! So happy!!! Thank you! This helps when ice is in key locks and in general my barely alive Subie locks seem like the keys broke them down a bit over time (still work) so great to have this working!

How is it with the 22? And did you have to rescale your maf tables with the drop in filter?
@EnzyteBob117
@EnzyteBob117 Жыл бұрын
Sold this years ago at this point, but the 22 had way more left in it with full spool by about 3400rpm. It was a bit laggy even with the top mount setup. The drop in alone isn't enough to need to scale on a bug eye. I've heard the newer WRXs did need a retune though. Overall I was happy with the 22, but I wouldn't go out of the way to get one unless you get a deal on it. The big upside was the room for future boost if you build the motor, but I never got to that point.

It's funny to me that dodge didn't fix a lot of the "weirdness" in these until like gen 5, and even then not by much. On my first gen I often find that the rearview mirror is in the way of seeing things and I've had to just learn to drive around that. Like you said, the visors are also pretty useless. They work to deflect air on the highway if you pop them up but that's... about it. lol. But I sure do love my viper.

How to be sad in your dodge viper. Step 1: You can't.
@koihoshi
@koihoshi 2 жыл бұрын
You might double check the bushings and hardware on the struts. One thing that is common on them which can cause the tracking and instability is that the rear strut mount area tends to flex and rotate ever so slightly, this is common up to the 3rd gen. There are stabilizer plates you can get that'll keep them from doing that, but often times just bushing replacement helps. You might also double check and see if they did anything with the rack on them, as the bushings there will also cause really nasty tracking issues under throttle and off throttle if they're shot. Since the stability of the rack bushings will cause everything from toe and camber changes as it moves. I replaced mine on my first gen with billet aluminum replacements and it's been a night and day change for me. I would suspect you are correct, it sounds like it was crashed by the PO. As long as the frame is straight and the replacement parts are as well, it should be able to be sorted. Would probably be worth it to bring it into a place that has a laser alignment and just go through it, sort it, get measurements and double check everything. If the guy did it with used parts then who knows what the condition of all of the parts are that were replaced. My car had a ton of alignment issues but it was due to PO neglect in a severe amount. Hope you're able to get it all sorted, they are supremely fun cars.
@EnzyteBob117
@EnzyteBob117 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Would the rotating strut mount always cause tracking issues though? Asking because she tracks dead straight, I'm just getting snaps on weight transfer and lift off. I'll def be double checking bushings, and alignment was changed a few years back. Don't know offhand if it was laser though - I'll have to see if I've got a good shop near me. Probably due for another anyhow
@koihoshi
@koihoshi 2 жыл бұрын
@@EnzyteBob117 Hmmmm. If it's only lift off and weight transfer, but not braking then it is definitely something else. The mount tracking is usually going to be off throttle or hard braking, because it pivots in and causes a toe shift. I've not encountered it in weight transfer, because that shouldn't cause a rotating track that way, and it's felt primarily in the rear when it happens. I'd be wondering if it's something with the rack setup or something within a front control arm if that's the case. The biggest flexes in the front suspension will be control arm mounts and the rack. Even through all the years, dodge didn't change that much. If you're feeling it just on the left and just the front I'd definitely check those. You also mentioned the wheel being left off center after an alignment which makes me wonder if they did a DIY install and DIY alignment, because I haven't ever had a solid reputable shop leave the wheel off center on an alignment since it's such an easy thing to adjust. Which would also make me question if the condition of mounts and bushings were properly inspected upon install.

@@EnzyteBob117 Also glad to see you're out driving it! I see so many vipers that just become garage queens. I bought mine needing a severe amount of work. I ended up with an accidental engine rebuild due to PO neglect and not being given accurate info and I ended up doing it myself. But the car is now running solid, working well, driving well and is a blast to drive. You're absolutely right that PO can often be your worst enemies lol. Real pain in the butt.

I have had my 98 GTS since 2015 and the only mods I did was K&N filters with Roe Racing smooth tubes , Roe Racing high flow cats, a Jon B custom X pipe with muffler delete and a custom Roe Racing SCT tune those mods weren’t complete until 6 years of ownership. I have to admit I did my mods in stages but all in cost me around $2500 and I’m completely satisfied with the results. You have the right idea pay off your car before modding and I believe gradually modding makes the experience of ownership more valuable.
