WTF? Smashing a black bear? This guy is NO hunter and was CLEARLY not raised by hunters. Seems like this guy is mental, with a gun, up in a tree filming himself shooting animals out of curiosity, for fun. Hmmm, ok got it. 🤔🤔

Thanks for posting this. I'm against hunting personally but I as a bear enthusiast wanted to hear both a biologist/ecologist and an experienced hunter's opinions on the subject. I've heard of some hunters from other states participate in some horrible behaviors so it's nice to hear there are some sane hunters. I've heard of people specifically targeting studies to keep ear tags as trophies and poachers basically driving up to the dept. to drop off a collar from a bear they poached at the entrance and leave before getting caught. Targeting bears that were rehabbed in sanctuaries just to spite sanctuary workers... Traps that cause nasty infections/amputations, slow suffering and other horror stories.

One thing I believe wasn't mentioned is males predating on cubs just so the female will enter estrus (heat) and breed. Happens more often with brown bears but from what I've seen/heard black bears do that too.

Fantastic! Loved this factual, detailed info. I was particularly interested in the mortality rate of cubs. I didn’t know more females survive than males. The reason for it makes sense.

Killing or shooting a black bear. "smashing" is really not the proper terminology and it is also what gives hunters a bad name. This isn't a fight ring. Respect the game.

Where i fish, the gobies will steal it using drop shot. How would you avoid this?
@After5Outdoors14 күн бұрын
Might try a durable plastic bait. I've never had experience with gobies, but at times I have to battle off small perch, a plastic bait will at least withstand little fish

The reason they use an allen head drain plug is so a regular 14 mm bolt head does not get sheared off if you should happen to seriously high center the machine on a rock.

Im all about hunting but this doesnt seem right. Maybe im ignorant and dont understand, but this is not hunting IMO. This is baiting. That bear would not have been there if all that food wasnt laying around. I know baiting like this is illegal for most sport and sustenance hunting where i live.

It was an excellent shot!!👏 What revolver.??..and what ammo did ykou use.???
I'm as conservative as they come, but I would never bait an animal. Fish in a barrel bs. I don't even use bait when fishing.

You guys realize that if a bear gets close to humans like that it's likely used to them and thus would have to be put down anyways right? Even besides that, hunting is the most ethical way to procure meat (which is necessary for things like protein and various other nutritional needs (and before somebody brings up gorillas, they literally eat their own feces for protein)) and serves the environment very well when it comes to population control and invasive species.

I should setup a tree stand at a McDonalds and takeout game there. I'm a hunter and I just don't get hunting over baited areas. That's not hunting.

@Sugar3Glider28 күн бұрын
Goal-oriented positions are designed such that a person can take time away outside of the PTO we currently expect. If we had adequate staffing at a location, then it wouldn't be an issue if someone didn't show up. Instead, because corporations staff the least possible it requires everyone to be there or the machine stops churning. It's about a shift in how workers are treated, it's not just about taking some time off.
@Sugar3Glider28 күн бұрын
When a corporation is managed correctly, then this is possible. Its proven time and time again by the upper brass as they go golfing.
