Thank you for the great info. I was looking into this place to stay, possibly in October, and found your video. Which month were you staying there?

1st, nice vid 2nd, There are a lot of things to do at Josemite valley, however the drive in (~80 mins from the South entrance + anywhere from 15 - 80 mins wait time to pass the entrance gate) would mean you need to plan it day. No problem if ur party r adventurous adults, however if u have non-adventurous teenagers, or pre-teen, then it's become a sight seeing activity.

Thank you for this video; this was perfect prep for my first visit to Yosemite and for taking a hike rather than a motorised tour. I did the longer version, up to the top of Nevada falls; so I loved Vernal falls but loved Nevada even more and recommend it to anyone considering it. Maybe it was the longer walk / hike that I wanted, the fewer people or just the fact it is so spectacular from that elevation. I started around 7:45/8:00 in the middle of last month and it was busy. After Vernal though it gets much quieter. A waterproof is useful but not necessary if it's sunny; near Nevada there's a fall you have to walk through and on the way down I didn't bother and was dry in 10 minutes. If you're thinking of hiking to Nevada I HIGHLY recommend it. You can do it in trainers / sneakers, a lot of people did but there are some sharp stones. It also isn't easy, like the video says; from the very bottom I saw people making a real effort. It gets easier later but like she says none of this is super easy but it is very rewarding. Oh final thing, if you have big feet (size 14 US), be careful, I nearly went feckin backwards twice by Vernal falls! It was gorgeous though and there's no waterfall like it in the UK so am very glad I went.

I have heard of Shenandoah River state park but never had the pleasure of visiting. Very beautiful campground sites. Great amenities. That dishwashing station is a great thing to have at a campground. This place is really pretty. You showcased it perfectly. Excellent share friend.

Hi fell on your videos. I have a question on pulling 30’ RV from Bay Area and routes with tunnels. We are about 12’7” high. Can we take 120 in?
@TravelSzN2 күн бұрын
If you are staying in one of the Yosemite Valley campgrounds, you may have a difficult time backing your 30' RV into your site with all the trees- just a heads up. lt looks like the clearance at the tunnel coming in on 120 is 13'8" at the fogline, and lower on the sides of the tunnel. More info here: www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/restrictions.htm

Just did 3 quarters of this hike because the last part to the glacier was closed from snow and ice. You better be in good shape. I was not but pushed on.

thanks for the great video. For Timed entry+Bear lake. is the window time for main gate entry or Bear lake Road Entry?
@TravelSzN11 күн бұрын
Here is what I found on the NPS site: "Rocky Mountain National Park's timed entry permits are available in 2-hour blocks of time. This means that when you reserve a timed entry permit, a visitor must initially enter the park within the 2-hour window specified under the reserved permit. Are you planning to visit any destinations located along the Bear Lake Road Corridor? These destinatons include Moraine Park, Sprague Lake, Glacier Gorge, and Bear Lake. If yes, you will need a Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road permit. You must enter through one of the park's main entrances (Fall River, Beaver Meadows, Grand Lake), as well as enter the Bear Lake Road Corridor during your reserved 2-hour window of time. " ...so it looks like in your 2 hour timed entry window, you must enter the park and enter bear lake corridor. Have fun in RMNP! :)

In Wild Basin is the "Ouzel Falls via Wild Basin Trail" at about 5.3 miles round trip. It's a nice wooded hike along a few creeks with crazy rapids, and you end up standing below a strong waterfall. Download all the trails in the area in case you want to hike farther. My AT&T service was terrible the entire way.

Do you recommend buying bear spray?
@TravelSzN11 күн бұрын
Black bear are in the area in Rocky Mtn NP, so it would be a good idea to have some bear spray on you while you hike. I personally did not see bear on my trip, but saw quite a few moose and elk in the park. This is a popular trail, so you are not likely to be alone for long periods of time while doing this hike.

This is one of the more clear and informative videos I have found about Acadia National Park. Thanks!
@ss2003utube17 күн бұрын
If you are coming in on a cruise ship, is Acadia National Park something that could be seen between 9 - 5, or am I better off selecting other activities?
@TravelSzN11 күн бұрын
Hello - if you will be coming from the Portland, ME cruise terminal, it's about a 3 hour drive up to Bar Harbor (a popular area to visit near Acadia NP). I don't think you'd have enough time to see the park with 6 hours of time back/forth in a vehicle. I would recommend finding closer activities to the cruise port.

Very little snow out where you'd think the PNW should have more compared to other parts of the country! It's the same on the Massachusetts coast! I guess the saltwater keeps it from snowing as much!

Amazing helpful video! Thank you! My family is coming in a few weeks! I am wondering if you've ever done the stargazing tour with Yosemite Conservancy?
@TravelSzN18 күн бұрын
I personally have not tried the stargazing tour through YC! I did live in Yosemite Valley for a college internship program many years ago, and the stars/waterfalls were spectacular to see at night. We even saw a moonbow (rainbow from moonlight at a waterfall). So I would imagine the tour is great!
