Thanks. I have a rough idea of what I plan on building and painting next 🙂. Video should be up in about a week.

Looking good :) indeed the second one looks better without the glossy feel. Maybe paint the branches on the arm brown before drybrsushing the miniature, so it wont stand out so much?

Thanks I am attempting that on the third and fourth miniature 😊. I also think the issue with the branches could be because I only used one colour so on mini three I will be using two browns to attempt some highlights. If it works I'll come back to mini one and add them in before I apply a matte finish topcoat over the gloss.

Thank you. The third and fourth will look more like the second stone ward or at least that's my aim.

Nice result, i especially like the bases, the yellow and grey tiles work out good... maybe i will use it as well. looking forward to the choice you made for next miniature.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. It went through several iterations but towards the end I went for something more simple and cut it down to the two colours ☺️. Next video should be up in a few days.

Nice going! :) what i found out is that some washes are glossier then others, for example on that red, i would like a more 'matt' wash more indeed. If it gets too 'messy', you can put a wash on a miniature, then after 10-30 minutes look again, the wash will have 'pooled' a bit too much on some parts, you can take it off there a bit then. I do like the miniatures very much, they have nice a 'gladiatoresque' look. Looking forward to the giant worm! i think i'll go paint that soonish as well.

Haha yeah that's a great way of putting it. It makes it look very glossy. In the end I went back and painted a little bit more red over the top and it took it down a bit while keeping the wash in the right areas but it was definitely a learning process. Next time i'll go back next time after that 10 mins and check on it and take it off if its too much so thanks for the info/tip i really appreciate it :). On the plus side I've started the bases now (weather was much better today), I'm trying to think of a colour scheme (I am using the cobblestone pattern one). Started testing colours on one of the bases so I don't use too much paint.

@@DuskHobbies You're using the Archon bases? what i recently learned as fast but pretty colour scheme: Paint the base (light) grey, then paint just some of the stones a darker tone (mix some black if you have only 1 grey). Then put the flesh wash, wait till it is dry, and as finish do a 'dry brush' with a sand or bone color. Dry brushing is very fun to do, if you havent done it, watch some tutorial for it first.

@@TinkerParci Thanks :). I have done dry brushing before but on bigger items (gunpla and a troll from a paint night kit). I love how things turn out haha. Thanks for the colour scheme too. I landed on a similar one but I was actually painting each brick individually so reading your comment helped me realise I can just base in grey then pick out/paint colours over the grey base for a few bricks scattered around, cut the time down by 75% so much appreciated.

Always nice, starting a new hobby :) you're asking for tips: i would start with painting the faces pink, and putting a big of flesh-wash over there. Very easy, and makes the miniatures 'come alive'.

Thanks I actually forgot that I have some flesh wash in my box haha. After finishing the other three I will go back and add in the pink and wash. I still can't understand why the "flesh tone" came out so white though, definitely wont use that colour again.

The sprues look good. I'm just extremely disappointed that Archon dropped a bunch of weapon options they showed us during the campaign. I guess some images were posted to the Kickstarter page that were never intended for release, and my favorite concept didn't get made.

I had heard about that too. It is a bit unfortunate, they spoke about things which didn't make it in the latest AMA (as me anything). I think the time stamp was around the 55 min mark. You are right the explanation about it was "we decided that only two of the poses will be available per miniature and the graphic team didn't follow it up. Some elements were not included, it was just pure oversight". I hope this kind of thing doesn't happen again though. Like I said I'm very happy with what was sent out but I can also understand why some people are let down because their pose/weapons were not included.
