Lasts long enough to shoot a video. How's it holding up after a year's use? Furnace construction avoids large single castings like that because of cracking - a real problem when have very high temperature differences. Cement will work if you don't get it too hot. Should really use a refractory cement.

In Thailand, where I live, we can buy these concrete, cast, charcoal cooking stoves in a steel bucket for very little money. It would be a waste of time to make your own and nowhere near as good or long lasting !!
