After the 90s, the Lobo Band was never the same. It is heartbreaking that kids these days think they are on the same level as we were. We did NOT make mistakes😁

Dickinson was always a very strong program. Surprised they didn't win that year, but...well....alignment and spacing were a constant issue, based on this video.

One of my very favorite small band performances. The quality of sound that they produce is amazing. Very confident players! And the marching is on point!!!! Difficult maneuvers while maintaining the quality of sound is impressive. I also love that despite not having a color guard, they are able to add to their GE score with the use of the hand and arm swings. Outstanding!

First tune is Camptown Races. Song by Stephen Foster....no idea who arranged it. Second tune is a mystery. Third tune is (I think)"If They Could See Me Now" from Sweet Charity.

First tune sounds like "How the West Was Won". Second tune is "There's a Place for Us" from West Side Story. Drum Feature ended with the Looney Tunes song, "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down". Nice Civil War closer to include "Shenandoah" and a bit of "Dixie". (Back then, Dixie was allowed, as it hadn't been cancelled yet.) A good spunky little band. Overall sound probably prevented a division 1, but it was a good show for its day. Thanks for the memories.

Ah...the old days of perfectly symmetrical drill design, and the tubas/percussion never leave the 50 yard line.

always thought of that being an 'elevator' drill if the drumline and tubas just move up and down long the 50

Actually our half time performances during halftime football games were much better...the atmosphere was totally different....most bands weren't as big as ours, so they had more room to do a variety of moves on the field....we definitely had the talent...plus we could march in the dark, with stadium lights off, flash lights on our feet, while the finest and prettiest majorettes in the state of Texas twirled fire batons....how's that!!💜💥

I think Vidor's high school band still does a 'lights out' show each year. They still march military-style.

I’ve been looking all over the internet for more Clear Lake High School shows - specifically from 1993-1996. You seem to have a few so I didn’t know if you anything from UIL or BOA. Any help would so be appreciated!!

Hi there, I would see if there is a alumni group for Clear Lake HS on facebook for example. Sometimes, band alumni may post videos or clips to the facebook group. If that does not work, I would contact the current band director to see if they kept any videos from the time period in question. Maybe you or someone can borrow the tapes to digitize and post onto KZfaq.
