The video also cautions against relying solely on massive accomplishments, however, these will not base your acceptance. This school really only focuses on UNIQUE backgrounds or financial status for success and emphasizes the importance of resilience. You will be surprised to find out when you talk to other students about 95% had LOW average GPAs (C-B avg), with parental support playing a significant role in their admission and success. BEST ADVICE TO FIND OUT ON YOUR OWN IF THIS SCHOOL IS UP TO YOUR STANDARDS ( All the school will care about is your ability to pay each semester and take loans out) 1. Write out ALL your questions clear and concisely. If you hear a non-direct answer, ask again and if you notice they avoid it - find out why 2. Look for DIVERSITY events. A school that genuinely cares want's to make you feel wanted & included OTHER THAN student led clubs. 3. If it's not accredited keep looking, you don't want your degree to be useless. Remember, a school can be accredited despite YOUR PROGRAM not being accredited so always double check. 4. Is it a commercialized school? If yes, make sure your answers for #1 appeal to what YOU'RE looking for. If not, continue to be mindful and be grateful to your colleagues that it may not cost as much as other big commercialized universities. 5. A counselor that cares what you're looking to be does not want you to take loans out "figuring" it out. They have a job to do too, not everyone will look out for you as best as you can look out for you.

I'm moving to a public HS in NYC and I already finished high school in the UK. Since I don't need to take any classes relating to the HS diploma, I only need to do the AP classes. So how many AP classes do you think one can take in 1 year, if they aren't doing any other type of class?

I wanna get into it but I have disibility. I only got one arm? Would this be very challenging?

Hello, I am a rising Junior with a GPA of 3.98 (unweighted) and the same weighted. I anticipate getting nothing less than a 3.8 and potentially rising my gpa to a 4.0. I am studying to get a SAT score of 1450 and nothing under 1400. My extracurriculars so far are 3 different orchestra clubs, I have been concertmaster in my 9th and 10th grade orchestra + extracurricular orchestras 12 times already. I am in State and come from a bigger High school. My awards so far consist of getting Honorary Mention in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition in State. My other extracurriculars consist of NEHS (national English honor society) and I have been the main graphic designer for two different clubs. My interests for what I want to make out of my education in UIUC is finding a way to bring visual art and Computer science together. I plan on majoring in Computer Science only. I also would like to mention I did Girls Who Code in the summer of 2024, and 2025, I also am going to do the girls who code club in both my junior and senior year. Lastly I plan on giving teens and kids from ages 15 and under the opportunity to be a part of a program I am making (for this July and next year (2025 June) to expose them to the world of animation and teach them basic coding for animation with scratch. What do my chances of getting into UIUC computer science look like? I would also like to mention one negative outlier in my transcript, all of my grades are A’s only with 2 B’s (semester) and sadly one D for one semester of a Honors Math class I took in 10th grade, I wouldn’t have gotten the D if I had time to study for the class, I didn’t have time because family from India had come over and my brother had broken his leg so I had to help my parents a lot of the time after school, in the 1st semester of the year I was in the normal level of that math class and got an A.
