Sir, 1 Dimensional harmonic Oscillatoril Phase space 6 dimensional alle which includes Px Py Pz and Qx Qy Qz. But taken Only two Dimensional. what is the reason ?

Very nice playlist. A bit unfortunate that you start talking faster and faster during a lecture. That does not make the explanation more clear.

When we solve partition function for ideal gas, we take integral from 0 to ♾️ but when we solve harmonic oscillator, we tak integral from - ♾️ to ♾️. Why is it so?

Sir, I think the no. of microstates at 14:44 is 12. The combinations could be (8,4,1) (3,6,6) and (7,4,4)

Sir...thank you for the wonderful lecture...i hv a doubt...Sir,u mentioned in the example that a particular microstate is the most probable distribution...then further u mentioned about equal apriori probabilities tht every microstate has equal probability...isnt this contradictory Sir....pls explain...in the example is any constraint applied,so that a particular distribution bcms the most probable?
@rajeshmonvg6 ай бұрын
Distribution is different from microstate. For a particular distribution there can be a lot of different possibilities (microstates). In the case of microstates all are equally probable. Naturally in the case of distributions, the one with the largest number of microstates will be the most probable one...
@rajeshmonvg6 ай бұрын
For large N, the most probable distribution can be treated as the macrostate (not microstate)..

sir i would request you to check the equation at 32.01 where there is not supposed to be a k in the 2nd term.I may be wrong but after repeated evaluation i didn't understand how k was there.This might be a very minute mistake but its confusing as the whole chapter is very complicated.Thank you

Yes. You are correct. But that term eventually drops.
