So, one note here the underworld known as Hades is an entirely separate realm, equatable to the Duat of Predynastic Egypt. It has only black sand, blackened stone wood, blackened rock, & crystalline shrubbery. The only light comes from the lightning overhead that never creases nor cracks thunder. It is forever dusk in this world & the sand about you whispers intangible thoughts to you, of yourself or as you were. Nymphs of underworld would be from here not the soul sucking realm of Tartarus that would never bare children or give them up for a war without gain. They wouldn't have joined the war if they were from Tartarus, this is a common misconception because Uranus, Chronos, nor Zeus could never command Tartarus or Gaia, let alone Hades.

Absolutely awesome. No matter the god or mortal, your voices perfectly embody them. When you portray Aphrodite, I easily picture as the most beautiful object in creation. When Hera, the sorrow and pettiness. Same when you portray Zeus, Hades or Hephaestus. So very glad this channel exists.

I have to say, it does crack me up that the Greek gods are basically just nobles with literally godlike superpowers. It's great. The tails are also beautiful, tongue in cheek aside. I was so fascinated with how Hephaestus believed he could not be loved because his wife was cheating on him and he was mocked by everyone. And so he turned to tearing down that which spurned him. To make them share his pain. It's very interesting. I just really liked your take on it, Baldermort.

Oh snap. I recognized the name Oedipus from my high school days' studies. Suffice to say, as it was an all-boy Catholic school, the re-creation we did of their theater was 'accurate' to say the least. Myself in the masque and garb of his daughter Antigone. That'll be the day, should you cover that lol.

Absolutely LOVE your videos and am subscribed to your videos! Greek Mythology is my favorite! But I do wanna say that I was always taught that Gaia, Tartaros and Eros came into existence after Chaos and wasn’t born from Chaos and that it’s commonly misread as Chaos birthing them. At least that’s what I was taught and read

I like your version more than the real myth honestly; Metis told Zeus of the child that would be born and bade him to break the cycle by choice, but instincts took hold and he swallowed her whole. She did stretch her essence out, but was forced back not by darkness but an endless storm that crushed inward as a hungry tempest. Metis used all she was to cast ancient spells of creation, forging armor, helm, sword, and shield for her daughter. She gave Athena the wisdom of battle and the tactics within such, but also tactics in life for success and the right path. The last Athena saw of her mother was as a sky of dreams and stars, Metis' last effort to shield the young Athena from the storm of Zeus' stomach. When Athena bashed her spear to her shield and stomped her feet, crying out a war chant to honor her mother's sacrifice Zeus could not stand the chorus of her will and begged for relief by taking axe to his head, just as you spoke of in your telling. When she came forth the last of her form was given to Zeus to free his mind of Chronos' Curse, but her echor fled and reformed elsewhere. This was not the last Zeus or the other Olympians would see of her but never again would the name given by Chronos be used. When the secret of Metis was realized by Zeus he bade her to never reveal the truth to Athena in fear she might betray him, for he was to be her only parent and hold her love as Gaia did for so many. She would find the truth in time with the convenient absence and revival of many goddesses that held the same Echor. Even in these tales ask yourself, who helped the Olympians by different name every time only to vanish at the appearance of another who knew more than was possible, more power than made sense, more keenly aware of events to be placed at the right time and right place? In the tales of the Titanomachy there are 3 names, but there was a 4th who was there to aid Gaia to protect, care, & teach young Zeus while acting as handmaiden for Rhea. She had a name of later years but would be given 2 others in this age. Perhaps you should look towards the mother of the mountain and ask yourself, is destruction justice by virtue or victory under the spell of the bathhouse of the firebird of the bent back? What was it that brought about the madness of Minerva? Why chase such an insignificant lesser goddess to Gaul, only to be impaled by her own spear and be cried upon by a goddess who bade all present to take up vows to honor the fall of Minerva? Such is the tale most of have forgotten, for none wish to see their heroes fall, even those of great beauty and cunning but it is so.

Your take on Haphestus... How i want to grab the man by his beard and slam him face first into a table before shouting at him that he treated Hera as a prize, a Thing... a bauble to be given or taken. That is not Love. Above all if you love a thing that cannot love you or you ccannot be with. Let it go. And so, he shouldh ave let HER go. Ask Zeus for an annullment. He had gotten what revenge he could of the situation and so perhaps in time find another who loves the forging and working. The shaping and crafting. Some people make better exes than partners. Friends rather than lovers.
