Those predator calls bite. I had one I bought at crappy tire on pei. Tried it, tossed it and went back to making chirping sounds like you make when you want a dog to come to you. If you mask the chirp with your hand to your face, the coyotes, foxes and cats come right to the call.

But what are some of the single malt American brands? Jim Beam is not single malt is it? Only bottle that had single malt whsikey written on it that i drank was Irish whiskey.

Single malt whiskey is called Scotch. Which is from Scotland, Bourbon is made with different grains and that is American. Jim Bean is Bourbon.

I made the same trek but from Ottawa in the dead of winter as well. I stave off bear attacks, near starvation and something that looked like a flying saucer. That last thing, as it turned out, was the lid of a garbage can, hurled at me while I rummaged in a retirees trash for nourishment. But I made it...back to my once heavenly home of Inverness County. Creignish to be exact. You probably know the old stone house there sittin part way down the looming hill of Creigmish Mountian and overlooking St. George's Bay. That was my grandparents home "MacKillop" then handed to my Uncle who died in 2012. The house still stands, forever it will as it was sold to an early descendant of the original that had built it. My dream, for many years now, has been to build a small distillery there in Creignish. Who knows. It may happen yet as long as I don't perish in the harsh Boreal forest of Eastern Canada while trekking over 1100 kms, as the crow flies , no food, no water, no internet, back to my native land. Ian Lloy Ottawa Previously yet only for short time, a resident of Creignish.

@@pthawk2 Aha!! Don't kid yourself my friend. It is more than possible with the addition of DC electricity. Just grab the battery outta' yer pick-up and put the leads into some salt water. Voile! Hydrogen and oxygen. Time for a BBQ. Now...about that whiskey.
