Definitely should keep up with Starset! Dustin, the lead vocalist, confirmed on some of his socials recently we're getting new stuff every couple months until the album drops, and the videos and hype around them will be just random cool scifi stuff like this one without an overarching story, but the songs themselves will still fit into their story

I think of he would have just said: this style could be a good fit for an anime song. That's my interpretation of what people mean when they see these things, which are not directly related, but just part of their euh... cultural perspective. And if so, that should not be a problem for anyone.
