This was a really amazing video! You definitely honored the memory of Art Fleming, the original Jeopardy, and you were most definitely channeling Art in your hosting style and demeanor. I am 57 and remember the original Jeopardy from my youth. I know Mr. Fleming would have been very touched by this, honoring him on what would have been his 100th birthday. You have a new subscriber in me as my dream job would have been (and still is in spite of my age) to host a game show! Bravo to you!

Somebody asked me to do an arrangement of the song "Take Ten," so I thank you and everybody commenting for clarifying that Merv's wife wrote it. Merv's cue for Final Jeopardy! ("Think") was said to have brought him over $80 million in royalties during his lifetime. Now that is how you assure yourself a great retirement. (In the UK, the composer for the 30-second clock music used in "Countdown" had a similar success story about how that cue brought him so much money in royalties.)

Thank you for this. I've been looking for that kind of choral song from the end of the final episode (around the 2:53:00 mark) for a long time. I had no idea it was "Now We Are Free" from Gladiator.

Merv Griffin's then-wife, Julann wrote this masterpiece. Yet the Final Jeopardy! music, "Think!", was remade into the version from 1984 to present. Congratulations to the show as a whole for 60 years of answers and questions.

I've been rewatching a lot of classic seasons lately, and I've been searching for the old "previously on..." music. Couldn't find it anywhere until this video! Thanks for putting this together!

I feel sorry for Robin because that was a final episode of the original Jeopardy run and she won’t be able to come back to play again, not even on the nighttime version that time Original Jeopardy airs.

1:05 The 3 "K"s is an unfortunate choice of wording

Indeed, but I’m sure he wasn’t trying to refer to the klan and more to the fact that all three players had the same first initial. Still, it is indeed unfortunate. 😅

January 3, 1975: The final episode of the Art Fleming version of Jeopardy! airs on NBC during NBC Daytime, as John, Robin, and Debby compete. Instead of introducing the contestants, announcer Don Pardo appears on camera introducing host Art Fleming. After introducing Art Fleming, he welcomes the show before the game begins. After the Jeopardy! round and before Double Jeopardy!, Fleming shows the greatest moments in the daytime run on NBC, such as the 2,000th Jeopardy! episode in 1972, and the final game of the National College Scholarship contest. After the Final Jeopardy! round and before the closing credits, host Art Fleming gives a message as he signs off for the last time. After the host signs off, "Smile" by Frank Chaksfield and His Orchestra plays as the closing credits rolled over a shot of the darkened empty Jeopardy! set.👍

February 21, 1972: The 2,000th episode of Jeopardy! airs on NBC during NBC Daytime, in which Burns Cameron, Jane Gschwend, and Elliott Shtier compete, as they return to play for charity. Before the game begins, Mel Brooks appears as The 2,000 Year Old Man chatting with Art Fleming and the contestants. Only one round plays using the Double Jeopardy! logo and values.👍

Im surprised how many questioned were missed.

Back then, a contestant was allowed to buzz in early, before the MC had finished reading the clue. Aggressive players would often hit their buzzer the second the clue was revealed. Needless to say, this was a risky move that resulted in more wrong answers than seen on the current program.

Quite a coincidence that Art Fleming & Alex Trebek entered eternal slumber from both the same disease, pancreatic cancer. Art was only 71, Alex 80, and Don Pardo a robust 96. It goes to show that past age 40, see your primary doctor on a regular basis, you'll get blood tests and imaging, but if problems can be caught early, your chances of a long survival are greatly enhanced.

This is the original Jeopardy that not many people will remember but me. They care more about intelligence than the cash. The other thing was people could ring in when the clue was exposed and during the first season of this current version had that rule. Everything changed with the 2nd season.

@@Delivery_Boy_RoyThe very short answer is ; you have to be from a certain culture and generation to get it. His whole mannerism (body language) and accent is making fun of where he came from in a very condescending way. It's like wearing black face, he is trying to make my Jewish grandparents look silly.
