This is by far the best race related/ gear video I have ever seen, and I have watched way more than would be considered healthy. Thank you.

Having spent 30 years in the infantry I thought I knew all there was to know about kit but that was an education. I did the 2016 Spine in inov8 mud claw and had wet feet from the start a good sock made the difference. But I will certainly be looking at the footwear set-up you recommend thank you for your knowledge ps i,m old school map and compass for me

Great review, gloves are huge in terms of impact, I did a lot of testing and still had problems last year, those mitts look good, I have the same but with fingers but they can be horrendous getting on in the wet, next time I'll have mittens. How are those la sportiva cyklon for size compared to Hoka ? Hoka fit me perfect and I'll have to order some of those FX online.

Hoping you will see this question... I have a very simple question... How much "waterproofness" is enough? I've seen waterproof jackets from 3000mm up to 30,000mm, with various options between those two limits. The more waterproof the more expensive it seems. So how much do you really need?
@PaulDurston5 жыл бұрын
Great, informative video - 'waterproof' jackets and kit requirements is a mine field. This video just made it a little less complicated!

If the jacket isn't lined you can just use tent sealer to seal the seams up. But of course the fabric still won't be fully waterproof. There's a new Gore-Tex Shakedry which has the membrane as the outer shell itself. Packs like a windshield but is permanently waterproof. However they're super expensive and are kind of fragile.

Excellent, I`m runing the 50 this weekend. Will there be any signage at this point of the course? I know my brain will have stopped functioning by then so would be interested to know if any signs will be available to follow. Thanks.
