Think I'm gunna have to build this tool...but being a little lazier/impatient I won't have a crank handle, I'll be using a rattle gun hahaa Great work, great idea. Been thinking about one of these for a while but never got there & now I seen yours I know its a must do. A great idea is usually genius because its also simple. This is genius

Now you have a bulged tire on top, instead of having a flat surface to stack the next tire on. NOT good.

My ideal would be to separately using a Hydraulic Press to ram lots of tires as apart of assembly line on the job site. 🤔

Brilliant. I want to use tires to build , but the amount of labor that it takes to pack them has put me off. Yours is the smartest solution I've ever seen.

You need to wet the dirt and tamp it to get compaction or your wall it will settle with time.

DO NOT DO THIS, IT IS A RECENT DISCOVERY. THE STEEL USED IN TIRES., ESPECIALLY FROM OVERSEAS IS THE LOWEST "GRADE" OF STEEL (RECYCLED) RADIOACTIVE STEEL . THE STEEL USED IS RADIOACTIVE TO THE POINT IT WOULD JUST FLUTTER ON A U.S. GIGER METER (OVERSEAS ARE MORE SENSATIVE AND "TICK"). BY "USE" OF TIRES, THEY GET MORE RADIOACTIVE. THE "TYPE" OF RADIATION, IN THE STEEL, IN TIRES, IS THE "WORSE" KIND. IT IS WHY THEY USE IT IN TIRES. THESE WERE NEVER MEANT TO BE RECYCLED. I LOVE EARTHSHIPS. I AM LETTING YOU KNOW TO SAVE THEM. CHECK YOUR HOME IF YOU HAVE ONE, AND DO NOT REUSE TIRES.

Wow. That is very good to know and scary, too. I will check with a buddy of mine and see if they have a small radial meter I can use. I want to see myself. Thank you

A very interesting method! Thank you for the video. What kind of soil have you already worked with?

Just the native soil in the high desert are in which we live. It’s about 25% small rocks.

Great idea, works much better than my fabbed tire lifter... I like the hand crank you added, I think I would just weld a bolt on top and then use my electric drill with a socket on it to make it go up and down faster. Although your system works pretty dang well as it is. 👍 Thanks for including instructions! You are a very crafty guy

The inner hooks lift the lip and create a downward pressure on the outer legs as you tighten the screw

Haha, I designed almost this exact same thing in 2018... on paper... : / -Glad to see someone else thought of the same thing! -Good job. Mine was going to be made of a standard, scissor car-jack, and chains and hooks to grab the inner edge.

I suggest NOT oiling the central threaded shaft or nuts. The dirt builds up and acts like sand paper on the threads over time. Keep a brush nearby and brush off excess dirt prior to turning the handle. It only takes seconds, yet saves a lot of effort.

Send this to an Earthship building company and they will probably pay you to make them.

What a wonderful idea you had. It seems that you have read my thoughts and suffering, I am poor and I want to make my house out of old tires. It turns out that one of my biggest dilemmas and difficulties would be to pay a team to help me inflate the tires. With your wonderful heart to share your wonderful idea that God has given you, I am forever grateful. I am already subscribed to your channel as a form of gratitude, a big hug from Brazil.

Also, because I used tires of the different outer diameters as I built upward, I had to use rocks to fill in the gaps. The first layer used my largest tires and all the layers above it had gaps. If you cannot find tires that are all the same dimensions, try to place them so that the ones with the same outer diameter are in the same area to prevent the gaps as you go upward.

I am glad it will be of use. I hope it will be as useful for you as it was for me. Prior to building this, I was exhausted after 10 tires. In use, I was able to do 30-50 tires and didn't feel nearly as exhausted. I will post the plans I drew up so you can build one, too. (If I can figure out how to do that.)
