The tool is made in Germany and is identical to the Greenlee version of the tool. The cable and lugs are called "Metric" and is the system used for Class B and other flex cables in the UK and Europe (Germany). With the metric dies you crimp metric lugs, which as I am sure you can see, do not use the same color coding system used in the US, where you choose dies to match lugs by a color code. The color marking of the lugs is beneficial beyond the color code in that they have crimp markers for multiple crimp lugs, which help you locate the multiple crimps in the correct position (spacing between crimps). Which was not consistently achieved in the video.

Eine Frage zur Kennzeichnung der Pressungen. Bei den anderen Pressmethoden z.B mit der klauke 05 oder klauke 5d usw. wird im Kabelschuh eine Prägung der Presszange hinterlassen als Nachweis der fachgerechten Vorgehensweise. Wie verhält sich das bei der Dornpressung? Das breite Spektrum der Anwendungsmöglichkeiten verhindert ja auch eine klare Zuordnung von Werkzeug zu Kabelschuh. Wie ist das im Sinne des Qualitätsmanagements zu dokumentieren? Beste Grüße Ulrich Birkholz Fahrzeugtechnik

Das Werkzeug EKM 60 ID ist nicht für die Verarbeitung von Massivleitern geeignet. Feindrähtige und mehrdrähtige Leiter lassen sich hingegen problemlos verarbeiten.

When crimping cable lugs, you should always follow the specifications. The gaps between the crimps are important because the compression ensures the strength.

If we start crimping in the opposite direction, it could happen that the cable lug is pushed away from the cable and the last crimp would not be properly connected to the cable.

Die EK30IDML ist für Alu nicht zertifiziert, dies führt auch zum vergleichsweise günstigeren Preis. Die EK60ID hingegen, verpresst eine größere Bandbreite an Kabelschuhen und ist auch für Alu Pressungen zertifiziert.
