jellyfish like most other aquatic life need a stable nitrogen cycle and by completely reducing all the water every week will crash a cycle and get rid of it. For aquatic life to thrive you must introduce a nitrogen cycle before you get the animal and only do partial water changes to keep the beneficial bacteria.

Get Microbacter Razor and the bubble algae will be gone in a couple weeks of dosing. Also cleans the aquarium. Trust me. Had bad bubble algae until I dosed Razor and now I have none.

i feel the same also about the astreas, i got 5 and in 3 days they all died
@cut419ram12 күн бұрын
I've been lucky. I lost 1 out of 3 astreas I bought (one was from Petco which is still alive the other two were from a LFS). I also have had a trochus snail for a while. I had another trochus a while back but it eventually died after 6 months. Not sure exactly why but that one dug into the cyano I had and cleaned it all up. I also have a small army of little ant looking bugs that live in the substrate and rocks. There's also many worm like bugs. Fish would love it but it's a 3 gallon so they thrive and do a great job of keeping the tank clean alongside the snails.

Algae outbreaks seem almost inevitable when you introduce coral frags. I'd like to know how to prevent algae spores coming in with the frags. Dipping hasn't prevented it for me so far... Wow its super cool that Hygger pump is so quiet, like its "not even there" as you put it... ha ha the g - s tring of aquarium wavemakers. I much prefer a quiet running tank and no visible lines showing :)

So for my innovative 15 I went with the ZKSJ it’s 530 gph and it’s good also for small tanks. It was cheap on amazon. Your tanks looking good I’m a fan of Nano tanks
@DreamStateLiving14 күн бұрын
oh nice! That pump looks exactly the same just less power! Will give this one a bit of time and if its still to powerful Ill look into trying out the ZKSJ, thanks for mentioning it!
@autoponicz14 күн бұрын
I think that wavemaker was like 2000gph+. you only probly need one thats under 1000 gph. find one that can go lower than 40% at min setting.
@DreamStateLiving14 күн бұрын
I got the smaller one, its 1600 which yea its still a lot for this little tank lol

lol. the most expensive coral i lost was an aussie 24k… $400. that’s cheap in comparison especially when the $100 you spent came with other corals 🤙🏾
@DreamStateLiving19 күн бұрын
haha yea it is definitely all relative! For me, I tend to stay around the $20-$40 range for corals so it's one of my more expensive pieces. Bummer on the 24k!
