That's a really top session. Very enjoyable watching. How heavy a jighead do you need in that part of the river. I imagine it would be running pretty fast there. Thanks.
@BrisVegasFishing2 күн бұрын
Thanks mate, bloody good to hear 🤙 As for jig head, I typically run a 3/4 ounce. Just makes it easier to keep contact with the bottom, which is gonna be where most of the fish are.

@BrisVegasFishing3 күн бұрын
Oh jee. Well my no1 Aussie brand of lure to use is the holt productions swim prawn they’re deadly. Also another good brand from what I’ve heard is Gobblers lures, they have a pretty extensive range. Go give both of them a suss and hopefully you’ll get into a few fish 🤙

@stevenhart90045 күн бұрын
Maybe you should use heavier gear if your targeting sharks so you don't keep leaving hooks in an important part of the river eco system. The bull sharks aren't too interested in people they like mullet. A bit further along the river i used to water ski in the 80s & 90s, loads of people used to ski & float about in the river in those days. We used to ski & swim all afternoon a few days a week till 7.30pm & just float down the river in our wet-suits for hours sometimes on the weekends well into the dark. The only time i ever had a problem was during the day a large shark hit me in the chest while floating in the river at 17 mile rocks & that put me off a bit. Two weeks later a 14 foot Tiger shark was caught under the Centenary bridge. So man eaters are there but if they were hungry i think they would have eaten me long ago.

Where u r fishing there is called lytton rocks cutting,which was dynamite blasted to deepen the river back when ships were travelling up as far as newstead and before that up to where Howard smith wharf is now.The rocks go right across the river and disappear under the buildings where the tugs tie up now.Its been a favourite spot for jew for many years.
