Can the software create a crossover between my sub and my mains? And can I pick where the crossover is? And can I add a high shelf cut in the custom target??? Thanks

Yes, absoutely

Dry mix sounds best to my ears, much wider and more open than the API or the Neve.

I could hear the difference in your Part 1 vid. I'm just gonna say, IMO, it's not a huge. It's subtle but noticeable if you have a good monitoring environment (room, speakers and/or good headphones). A bit more depth in the lowend and something a bit more chewy (I don't know what that means exactly) in the lowmids/mids. Again, subtle. Most consumers listening on their ear buds or bluetooth speaker would enjoy either print and be able to tell one bit of difference or really care. All that said - I think I want a B2 -- lol!

The B2 does have a cool sound

If I was re-starting as an engineer, man the only outboard I’d need is API 2500, API 5500, and a UTA mpeq1 preamp. Done.

You can slam this thing really hard. Try 10:1 ratio, soft, loud, in old mode. Release to taste. Try that setting on anything to find out what it does on the 2500 - it’s really interesting.

Nice. I'll give that a try

Impressive, I would have gone straight to the classic Sontec shelf on both ends 🤔, but it was good enough even though you only did bells.

Seems very promising. Interestingly, the company has said this is more G** inspired than S*ntec, if that makes sense. The 5 overlapping bands and frequency selection speaks to that. As far as the utility of a transparent EQ, I think you may surprise yourself how often you reach for one. Not sure if you do mastering, but such an EQ is basically the equivalent of a scapel to a surgeon, its ubiquitous and usually paired with another colorful broad strokes EQ. Its surprisingly useful on vocals too. Thanks for the demo!

Nice video. Major issue is it is not stepped and will be a nightmare for recall and for dialing it in. it appears you cannot link the channels. 30 knobs to keep track of. I say no go for a busy studio. To me the device should only be stepped never continuous. Other than that, great box. Oh and lettering is too small. Sorry to be negative about those issues because I like to see good gear. It is my opinion and I am sure others will think differently and that is perfectly fine.
@MixingMusicAnalog5 күн бұрын
Is all your gear in your studio "stepped"? If you really need stepped, you can get it as I mentioned in the video. It's always easy to just point out the negative. Recall? Dont worry about that. Be a better engineer and you wont need to recall as much....LOL

Having just had Trinnov, Sonarworks and the ARC studio in my room I completely agree with this 100%... I wanted a bigger difference honestly, but at the same time Trinnov (Nova) was definitely better... I actually found the ARC closer to it and even if i get the trinnov im keeping the ARC until they sort out a low latency mode :)

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Trinnov and room correction. People dont understand the value of the Trinnov until they hear it

I don't know if you covered this in the video, but I think you were mostly talking about large format consoles. I've just bought a compact Allen & Heath GS3000 24 channel 8 bus, late 90s vintage. A lot of the concerns such as power consumption and failing components aren't an issue on an IC desk like that. I should be taking delivery this weekend. Let's hope it's in as good condition as the seller says it is.

Owning the Convert Ad+ among many other converters I can say this. Where the Dangerous AD+ shines is when you drive an clip the input . Compared to other high end converters it just handles it much better. Added bonus 👉 is the clip guard function that keeps it from clipping the convertion back in Pro Tools or any DAW alike. The AD+ handles allot of clipping especially the low end. It does this much better than any converter ive ever herd ,used ,and own. It does this while retaining the integrity of the mix and a much better open wide top end aswell. Also without the transformer engaged. Love the AD+ it can really handle some serious level while staying transparent.
@MixingMusicAnalog14 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I have no reason to drive the converter myself but that is a feature that many people like so the AD+ I am sure is great for that

I love the tube and solid state switching function... would be useable if you already had a lot of analogue going on in a chain, the added tube effect could be too much at times... if you only had a few units you might always stay on tube. I was so surprised when I realised this was a stereo unit when looking on the website... it's like getting two units for a tiny price increase. They have updated the website to make it a lot more obvious right away now I see as I went to quickly fact check what I was about to say lol. Such a incredible value deal

Great unit! Too bad we didn't get any mixbus examples! Also, I don't believe solid-state sounds less 'warm' per se; it's just a different kind of low end. The tube circuitry's low end is kind of pillowy and woofy, easy to overdo. The solid-state circuitry's low end sounds punchier, tighter, more focused. But as you said, both are great, and it's up to the mixer to decide which one is the better choice for a given song. :) I just know that I prefer solid-state on the mixbus. :D
