The new DAS pass system is pretty disgusting when you ask me. Deny everyone with disabilities so they are forced to purchase lightning lane. They preach about inclusivity and yet here they are looking for a reason to make a profit off people who need assistance.

Clinically diagnosed autistic here. I have diagnosis paperwork and accommodations from my employer because of the paperwork I submitted, as well as the doctor’s note requesting accommodations. Not only have I had meltdowns just sitting at my desk at work, I’ve had them in queues outside of Disney Parks properties. I was still denied. Per their verbiage when I contacted Disability Services, I was told their standard boilerplate excuse of, “Some Guests who are on the spectrum are not unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time. That is why some Guests with autism do not require DAS.” Who determines this? My doctor who did an assessment of me over multiple days and several tests, or some Nurse Practitioner from a biased corporation-centered organization who has talked to me for one minute, and likely has no experience dealing with autistic people? I don’t want to have to use the DAS, but when I enter a meltdown state, I am not in control of my faculties. It’s like I am seeing myself doing these things, and I have no way to control them. That just further exacerbates my Unspecified Anxiety Disorder, which only feeds my meltdown even more. If that’s what they want to have happen in their parks, well, they asked for it.

You can also order Legacy Lightsabers from Disney’s official online store! That’s how I got both of my Legacy lightsabers! However they do sometimes take certain hilts off of the website when they go out of stock. Sometimes the stock is replenished, sometimes it is not.

My friend is legally blind (less than 10%vision) and uses her white cane at Disney World and always has someone escorting her. She has had the disability pass 10-14 years. Recently she was DENIED the DAS. She was told she can go sit and wait while her escort goes through the line and when escort gets to front, she can rejoin escort. HOW can she rejoin her escort if escort can not get out of line to get her??? The doctors say she is disabled but unqualified Disney interviewer says she does not qualify anymore. Oh, and the online interview you have to sign you will not participate in class action suit if you are denied pass. Of course you say ok because you know there is a REAL disability and no need to sue, then, BAM!!! Denied by WDW interviewer.

It's hard enough to travel with a family member who has a significant disability. Sure glad we went 12 years ago because my husband and son had an amazing time where my husband's disability didn't impact the fun. Now, they are making it so hard. I would still consider the cruise line, where my husband could go rest and pace himself as obviously no real help from WDW is available to those who really need it. It's a very physically demanding vacation.

This is deeply unfortunate, I was looking forward to being able to get myself and my dada dass pass for Disney because of our conditions, my dad being wheelchair bound after a car accident and myself being born flat footed with my tibia and fibia shattered in an accident I too can't walk nor stand for more then 5 minutes without my feet swelling up and I became bed bound for 1-3 days depending on the severity of the agony and swelling, so to avoid it i also use a wheelchair, , so the fact that they are rejecting dass passes for people with down syndrome (please correct me if I sprlt thst wrong I'll fix it) is deeply concerning and upsetting that people who trulyly need it are bring rejected.

I don’t understand why Disney doesn’t just require people to show a disabled parking placard IDENTIFICATION CARD to get a DAS Pass. It would prove the person has a proven disability or mobility problem since each state requires a doctors note to be given one and it has the persons name and birthdate so people couldn’t swipe their grandmothers. I’m not taking about the placard, I’m talking about the ID card that comes with the placard you can show as proof that the placard belongs to you if an official asks for it.
@elisariamarie832517 күн бұрын
Not everyone with a disability needs a placard. Some people can walk, but not stand or sit for long periods of time, which obviously doesn't require a placard.

Most of the people using scooters are frauds. We all know it. You know it, and Disney knows it. It’s the 90% of the fakers that make the 10% real disabled people look bad. My mom has a real disability, so we’ll be using the scooter next time. I’m not against people using scooters. But people are fed up with the fakes. If it were me, I would mandate that ALL park guests - disability or not - use a scooter. That way nobody can complain.

Its unfortunate that its come to this. I havent gone into the parks since 2019, due to my limitations from multiple advanced stage autoimmune diseases & neurological autoimmune similar to MS or Stiff Person Syndrome. I cannot go into the parks for a long time because of my condition. In 2013, i was ambulanced off Haunted Mansion after having a seizure triggered by overwhelm of being in a line. Stress & being overwhelmed triggers life threatening autoimmune reactions in my central nervous system. I also have neurological reactions similar to my daughter who has severe autism. We were planning on buying into DVC and getting annual passes so i could spend as much time with my family in my happy place as possible. Ive been goong to Disney every year besides during the pandemic since i was born in 1974. We have been holding off because I'm watching many who should have DAS getting denied. The entire situation is stressing me. I would end up having either a cardiac or seizure event for certain within 10 minutes if I try doing the lines and its nothing i can control. Its neurological with my brain misfiring. It is for certain not fair that no refunds are being offered in the event someone cant navigate without DAS & get denied. Why we are holding off. We cant afford to buy tickets and not use them. I know what theyre trying to do. This is in end not a good system and losing business already for Disney. As those who truly are that sick or disabled. Just arent goint. So, no win here for Disney.

Wonderful yet another thing that people abused that ruins it for people who actually need it and the cause is one of those things that I ASIC really benefit from an after the jet mean there’s now been super restricted because people who actually don’t need it had to abuse it wonderful It’s not easy being autistic having generalized anxiety disorder breathing issues that are exacerbated by heat humidity and just walking full on pays her time let alone the fact that I’m going blind either, which doesn’t help in a big crowded area which is just a few of the reasons why I don’t do good in the long lines plus I have knees that act up a lot because of untreated, undiagnosed limes I have joint issues, so I can’t dance/sit for extended periods of time either yet another another reason why I can’t standing in a long line fuck an excessive amount of time specially, if I’m having to stand still so I had really benefited from the death pass the last time I went to Disney World in Florida back in May 2021 and I actually legit qualified because I have a lot of for physical and mental issues and I really have severe severe anxiety and really can’t wait long length sense of amounts of time I would’ve had a major freak out if I was forced to which is something no one need to see Right now because some people who really didn’t didn’t want to take avenge of it they’re cracking down and making it harder and even if it wasn’t for the fat, they would figure in a long line just the mobility stuff and I can’t use a MobileCal scooter because my eyes are really bad that you won’t want a blind person Running around in a scooter accident and he knew either though and my mother is the current mother who wouldn’t push me a wheelchair either so that would be out as well and that last time I went it was just me and my mother so likely due to the autism been song all the diagnoses that have I still qualify hopefully but man because some people had to take a vantage of it so people who really didn’t know they had to wait for those of us who actually do need it. Yeah, another thing that made to help people with all different types of disabilities, ruined by people with out disabilities taken advantage of it
